CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Friday that Meta Platforms have appointed Chat GPT co -creator Shengjia Xiao as the chief scientist of its spontaneous lab, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Friday, as the company accelerates its emphasis on Advanced AI.
“In this role, Shengjia will set a research agenda and scientific direction for our new lab working directly with us and Alex,” Zuckerberg wrote, referring to Meta’s Chief AI officer Alexander Wang, who hired Zuckerberg with a larger Meta -Scale A.
Former Openi Research Scientist, Xiao, Co -created chat GPT, GPT -4 and several mini models of Open, including 4.1 and O3.
He is one of the several researchers who have moved from Open from Meta in recent weeks, which is part of a wider talent arms race because Zuckerberg has aggressively hired rivals to close space in Advance AI. The Meta Silicon Valley is offering startup deals to attract some of the most profitable salary packages and top researchers, a strategy that follows the poor performance of its Lama 4 model.
Meta recently launched the Sprinteline Lab to stabilize work on her lama models and long -term artificial general intelligence ambitions. Xiao is the co -founder of the lab, according to the threads post, which works separately from the festival, led by the Meta -based AI Research Division, Deep Learning Panier Yan.
Zuckerberg has said that the purpose of Meta is to develop a “complete general intelligence” and release her work as an open source – a strategy that has attracted both praise and concern in the AI community.
