The California Department of Motor Vehicles has filed a lawsuit against an electric car maker Tesla, accusing us of misleading consumers with false advertising and its “auto -pilot” and “full self -driving” features. The DMV has been angling for a 30 -day suspension of an automaker license to sell EVs in California for at least 30 days, while the courts said it should take a fine or revenge. Tesla certainly wants to fight the allegations.
What does it mean for you?
If CA DMV is applied for suspension, it can put Tesla into chaos. The suspension will come to a great decline in sales during the first half of 2025, which is a combination of the current administration’s abusive behavior about the EV, unexpected taxes and political interference of Tesla Head Musk. The agency cited the verb from Tesla that its vehicles, for example, “are capable of conducting short and long distance visits with the need for action by the individual on the driver’s seat” and “automatically find a place and park yourself” because the current legal and technical capabilities of technology are unrealistic.
Tesla’s denial also includes a claim that DMV has known the first allegations of DMV, respectively, since the first films of features in 2014 and 2016, since the use of “auto -pilot” and “complete self -driving” branding. According to Tesla, it is important for “clear approval” to this point. Over the years, the automacker has also given a small amount of adaptation for the details of its products. Today, the Advanced ADAS feature is labeled on Tesla’s website as “full self -driving (monitoring)”, which has foot notice that “currently active features require active monitoring of the driver and they do not make the vehicle independent.”
