If you have heard this earlier, stop me: Microsoft is making it difficult to use chrome on Windows. The culprit? This time, this is the feature of Windows’s family safety. Earlier this month, parental control move has prevented consumers from opening a chrome. The strange thing is that no other apps or browsers are affected.
Reddatters first reported the issue on June 3 (Via Stuffy) U/Witty-Discount-2906 posted that Chrome crashed on Windows 11. “Unable to open just without a message of error,” he wrote. Another user made a proper guess. “It can be related to parental control,” U/Duk242 said. “In the last hour, nine students saw an IT desk that Chrome does not open.”
A Google spokesperson pointed to a statement in its community forum. “Our team has investigated these reports and determined the cause of this behavior,” said Alan T. “For some users, Microsoft is unable to run when the family safety is enabled.”
Interestingly, Microsoft did not make the bug after 17 days. (Go to figures!)
Microsoft
Windows Family Safety is an optional feature for parents for families and schools. This allows them to handle children’s screen time, filter their web browsing and monitor their activity.
Wait to work when we wait for the company to take action. One is to close the “Filter Inappropriate Website” setting in family safety. However, it removes the security feature, and allows children to run wild on the World Wide Web. (Weeee !!) A simple fix is that you go to your Chrome folder and change the name chrome.exe Like something chrome1.exe.
Enjat emailed Microsoft for a comment. We have not heard back, but if we do, we will update this story.
If you have ever installed Chrome on Windows, it can trigger the Big Dija Woo. Microsoft has a long history of disappointing tricks to keep you on your default products. This includes misery indicators, popup advertising for Bang and begging users. At least European consumers will have some relief. Microsoft is surpassing its cheap tactic there to comply with the European Union rules.
