- Transparent micro LED screen shows different content from both sides simultaneously
- Ultra thin 17.3 -inch design combines future aesthetics with real world functionality

Transparent screens on devices like smartphones and tablets have been an important place in science -fi movies and TV shows because they look good, even if they are not always practical. Now, though, they are beginning to become a reality.
Taiwan’s display company AUO (AU OPTRONPS CARPERP), which was created in 2001 through the integration of Acer -display technology and UNIPAC Optt Electronics Corporation, demonstrated double -sided transparent micro -LED display in Taiwan 2025.
This is a thin 17.3 -inch screen that offers transparent experience on both sides, and can offer different materials in terms of viewing angle.

Used in aircraft and homes and shops.
The screen can show different images or data on each side, and the AUO suggests that a potential use will be in the first -class airline cabin, where passengers and flight attendants can see their interface.
Au’s demo contained a translation interface, which presented smooth multi -linguistic communications through display. Trade scenes such as store windows, museum exhibitions, and digital indicators are also seen as a natural natural fit of this technology.
Ultra -thin design, combined with transparent micro -LED technology, represents the change towards something close to computing by the use of conventional display.
Unlike the single -sided transparent OLEDs, which often struggle with the explanation of brightness and icon in direct light, AUO’s micro -LED tech offers high brightness and color performance – possibly overcome many of these boundaries.
The AUO has not revealed when it is expected to come to the display production, nor has it given any indication of prices, though it is appropriate to say that the screens will not be cheaper.
In a video posted on YouTube, the screen is used for 50 seconds.
