Google has been rumored that it will create a new first -party desktop mode for Android phones and tablets for years, and may be closer to launching more than ever. According to a new leakage, this feature, known as the Android desktop format, was expected to come with Android 16 this year, but now its release can be seen with Android 17. It has been speculated that the capabilities like the Samsung Dex and Motorola Connect will be offered, which enables users to change the size of Windows and the rapid transfer between the mobile and desktop interface.

Tipster Mashal Rehman revealed details about Android desktop mode in the recent current series on X (formerly Twitter). The new desktop experience can enable users to take advantage of big screens through their phone. When the phone, especially a pixel, is connected to an external display, such as a laptop via USB type-C, this desktop styling interface.
The Android desktop mode is said to offer multi -tasking capabilities with the ability to change the size of Windows and move around them. In addition, there may also be features like steel desktop, such as app management system, transfer capacity between mobile and desktop interface, and other navigation elements.
Earlier, it is said that this new experience of desktop arrives with Android 16. The latest Android 16 beta update added a new developer option called “Desktop Experience Features”. When active, this feature showed the Android Task Bar, Three Button Navigation Access, and other options when the aforementioned beta -run pixel was connected to a laptop.
However, its release may be delayed. According to Rehman, Google needs more time to polish the feature user interface and thus, it cannot reach with Android 16. Instead, this feature is now speculated to debut with Android 17 on the next generation of Pixel phones.
Previous reports suggest that desktop mode may also include a task bar that can also include a task bar with apps such as phone, messages, cameras, chrome, as well as app drawers. Moreover, it can also show recent apps.
