Properly cooking a grill, and keeping it seasonal, is the best way to prevent your flat tops from getting rusty.
The cooking process involves heating dissatisfied fat, often over heat oil such as grape seed oil or canola oil, carbon steel or cast iron above unsafe metal. But most grids arrive with shipping oil, which aims to protect it on your journey, but what you do not want to keep. As a first step, you will need to clean your grill with soap and water.
Note that almost every guide of each grid maker says that you do not use soap and water to clean your grill top on the released basis: this is the first, last, and only when you use soap. But do this this time.
