Huawei unveiled the companion X7 foldable as well as its companion 80 series in China today, but they weren’t the only new devices at the event. The brand introduced its MatePad Edge 2-in-1 tablet, which runs Harmony 5 (aka Harmony’s Next 5) with full desktop app support, as well as an unusual Master Edition of its MateBook Fold.
Matte Pad Edge Huawei is working on the Microsoft Surface Tablet – a tablet that aims to replace your laptop. The device is built around a 14.2-inch OLED screen and a sleek unibody aluminum chassis. It measures just 6.85 mm thick and weighs 789 grams. You get a built-in 175-degree adjustable hinge, which allows you to position the device at all kinds of angles.

Huawei claims that you can expect Apple M5 performance from its latest chipset, with a 3.8x improvement over the previous-generation Kirin T92 SoC. The Matte Pad Edge comes with optional liquid cooling and dual vapor chambers to maintain thermals.

The MatePad Edge features a 14.2-inch OLED touchscreen with a 3,120×2,080 PX resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel features a 3:2 aspect ratio and is rated at a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It also includes the Huawei M Pencil Pro stylus, a six-speaker setup and stylus support via four microphones.
