Oppo unveiled a comprehensive plan to extend the life of its phones to a new industry standard at its global headquarters and R&D hub at its Bona Bay campus.
The main name of this project is the most guard. It includes hardware innovations that ensure the phone survives years of use. It also includes software solutions to make the phone feel faster. And it also includes improved after-sales support as an additional safety guard.
On the hardware front, OPPO has developed materials like ultra-high-strength steel and AM04 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy. He also introduced structural solutions such as the armor shield. All this improves the resilience of Oppo phones against the realities of daily use such as falls, scratches, extreme temperatures, button and USB port usage.
OPPO’s Silicon Carbon Battery Tech uses a custom spherical silicon carbon material, which adds 400 cycles to the battery’s usable life, allowing it to maintain its capacity longer.
The company is working with not one but several testing organizations: TVRenland, TVSEED and SGS. Together, they have conducted more than 180 device tests from the pre-R&D stage to the end of the product lifecycle to ensure that OPPO’s quality guarantees are not just talk.
Software ages as hardware does. The new Chloros 16 introduces the first unified animation architecture for Android to ensure app launch and transitions feel smooth even after years of use.

Oppo performs aging tests, simulating usage periods of 48, 60 and even 72 months (that’s up to 6 years!) to ensure that all its developments have the intended effects.
Opex Guard was introduced at Oppo’s Binhai Bay campus – the campus is home to various state-of-the-art laboratories including a materials lab, an intelligent terminal testing lab, a power consumption intelligent lab and a communication lab.

“Quality is the foundation of everything. Through continuous breakthroughs in quality, OPPO is committed to protecting the freedom of every user on their journey through life. Quality is not just a feature, it’s the freedom to create your moment,” Girish Shan, director of manufacturing at Oppo, said.
