Round, square or visor – these are the usual shapes when we’re talking about smartphone camera islands, but Realme has its eyes set on bringing a more personalized look. The Realme GT8 Pro is the brand’s first smartphone with an interchangeable camera housing, allowing you to completely change the look of your phone in a few simple steps.

The GT8 Pro’s camera deco includes two Torx screws on the side, which hold the module in place. The system appears to use magnets, allowing you to quickly snap the housing into place and then attach the two screws to secure it. Realme revealed that it will offer all kinds of designs, including square, round and robot styles, which will be available from the brand’s official stores.
But Realme is also giving users the chance to 3D print its camera island design, as it has shared a 3MF model file and is running a competition for the most creative designs in collaboration with MakerWorld.

The GT8 Pro isn’t just focusing on looks, as it brings a capable triple-camera setup headlined by the Ricoh Twin Main Camera, marking the official start of the Railx Ricoh collaboration.
The GT8 Pro’s 50MP main camera sports a 1/1.56-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture. The GT8 Pro is also compatible with the Ricoh GRK full-frame equivalent focal lengths of 28mm and 40mm. You also get access to five tons of Ricoh GR’s iconic photography.

The main shooter is supported by a 65mm equivalent 200MP periscope with 3x optical zoom and up to 12x flexible zoom. It uses a 1/1.56″ sensor (isocell HP5) with an F/2.6 aperture and includes dual-axis OIS stabilization.

The third shooter on the back is a 16mm-equivalent 50MP ultrawide lens with an f/2.0 aperture and 116-degree FOV. Video recording tops out at 8K resolution and 30 fps.
The rest of the sheet is equally impressive. You get the flagship Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 Extreme Edition chipset paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of BuFS 4.1 storage. Realme is also bringing its custom R1 graphics chip.

The GT8 Pro gets a flagship with QHD+ resolution (3,136 × 1,440px) and a 144Hz refresh rate. Brightness is rated at 2,000 nits under normal conditions, and can rise to a crazy 4,000 nits in local peak areas. You also get a 32MP selfie cam and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Elsewhere, the GT8 Pro shares a combined 7,000mAh battery capacity between two C/C cells. Wired charging tops out at 120W while wireless top-up tops out at 50W. Despite the larger cell, the GT8 Pro is 8.2mm thicker compared to 8.55mm on the GT7 Pro.

The new phone also features IP66, IP68, IP69 ingress protection and boots Android 16-based Real UI 7 out of the box.
