Thrust Master T248R: A minute review
This is not a new racing wheel you are seeing here, but instead, the 2025 edition of the current Thrast Master T -248 has been comprised of a good and thoughtful understanding. Youth’s extravagant T248R includes a lot of small but noticeable improvement, including a visual fee lift, upgraded gear shift pedals, and a sharp digital display that offers a real useful red out.
As far as your driving sensation is a powers, it is a two -edged sword. On the one hand, this is a negative side that is made on a hybrid of T.HD whale base gear and belt feeders, which cannot be countered directly for a smooth, sharp, precise feedback.
And with the price of the direct drive bundle, with the recent falling down, no more than the price of this bundle, it is definitely an important consideration for everyone who shaved the ‘add to the cart’ button.
On the other hand, no one does the belt -powered feedback like a thrust master, so driving sensation you really gets out of your hands with this wheel is not as old as you can imagine.
This entry level SIM racer has a planty powerful enough for which it is designed, which produces a peak 3.1nm torque, and there is also some degree in the impression, which does not produce a harmful amount of coaging (which is associated with old belt -powered feedback, tuition feeling).
On your feet, the pedal base is everything you can ask for. It lives where you have kept it, even on the carpet floor. All three pedals are separate from each other, and the brake is a satisfactory amount of stamping force thanks to its severe burden cell.
It should be recommended for a wheel, ultimately, but this is a recommendation. If the cheapest direct drive wheels such as the Nican Rivasium or Thermaster Master T598 are out of the budget, or if you do not run so much to justify additional emissions for better sensation, this bundle is very meaningful.
It is also a factory in the Great Lodge G923, which is a real titan of non -direct drive wheels on a sub -$ 300 mark. Lugogi’s wheel offers a bit better quality, and its truthful views have presented impressive details, but it has more modest benefits than this reliable and good price T248R.
Thrust Master T248r: Price and Availability
- List Price: 9 349.99 / £ 249.99 (AUA $ 512 around)
- Outbound T248 and Logitic’s G923 cheaper price
- It may be old tech, but it still offers a great bang for the book
Price here is an important context. It is true that the Direct Drive (DD) is getting much cheaper, with high -quality DD sensations have been brought to the public at a cost less than $ 500 with a stable T598 of Nicon’s revival and thrust master. But the pricing of this T248R is so below that the $ 500 limit is that the belt and gear -powered bundle is still valuable.
This means that there are some clear compromises in the look and the standards of the G923. But with a high quality set of crystal clean digital display, good supersh buttons, calm shefters, and pedal, here is the original value. Construction quality and driving experience is more than enough for casual racers and even more determined fans in the budget.

Thrust Master T248R: Design and Features
- Well made, if a little plastic
- The pleder wheel feels great
- Useful display
The Therist Master has been making T248 in his various repetitions for a long time to know that his audience is unlikely to connect it to a SIM vein, so he has made both the wheel and the pedal wisely to be used comfortably on the desktop. The pedal base is heavy and pleasant, which is essential for a enjoyable drive.
When you seal the load cell brake in 180mph the last thing you want Assetto Corsa CompITizione Despite the relatively hard load cell on the brake, the entire base shift position is to feel or rotate, and happily, with none of it is with it. Aluminum contact points on the pedal are also a good touch at this price.
Working our way, whales and whales themselves show some more privileges at the point of cheap price. Basically, all plastic. Although this is a certain upgrade compared to the outgoing T248 (which will still be on sale in the Xbox Config, as it supports the new T248R only PC, PS4, and PS5, so the best PS5 is to target the racing wheel market), which is still used lightly, stroke and stroke plastic.
The Therist Master has tried his best to disguise some of it with a carbon fiber styling effect, but realisticly, it is not fooling anyone. Personally, this price li, I can stay with it, but it is worth noting that a little price G923 looks more prominent and somehow, well, looks more pro and feel.
The buttons are wise around the center, and there is a digital display with a sharp resolution at the top, which can give you something really useful red out and telemetry – a sure advantage for the price.
The biggest weakness in the total design of T248 falls in the desktop clamp. There is no big problem here – it works in place of the wheel on your desk, but now with a hardness or assurance like the G923, the two sides of the wheel base lock it firmly in the position. Here, there is only a central screw, and when it is away from the path of your legs, it is not as safe as the logic.
Thrust Master T248R: Performance
- A lot of strength
- A pleasant feeling while considering the old tech
- Buttons, shifters and pedals all feel very good while driving
How does it feel like driving in the lap with this latest model?
Well, first of all, the first place is straightforward, because most of the games recognize it either as an old T248 or TGT wheel. This means that you have found the values of default assignments for the inputs across the wheels, and the values of very good axis and freight feedback. With this new model, whatever the title I tested was so recognized that all my map -making was done for me, and I didn’t have to have a calebrot of the wheel axis through the axis.
On the track, the unique hybrid of the thrust master shows the belt of belt and gear -powered force. It feels very different from direct drive – it’s not smooth to rotate the wheel, for starters. But it is not a kogi or a raw in the way the old traditional belt -powered model (remember the Momo Force?).
Instead, you’ve got a pleasant medium between the activation of the smooth wheel and the rimmal opinion that feels right for the price point. Does it offer the same kind of feedback, such as the true force of the Lajtic G29? It does not.
Lounge Wheel improves Tramic a little better and the car you are driving gets a more convincing feeling of weight, but it does not really have a meaningful effect on lap times.
I saw that I was also driving as soon as the input buttons were made. This is common for facial buttons-translated from a traditional console controller and arranged around the wheel-so that the wheels can be felt loose and dirty at the lower end, but here they feel high quality. You are always sure the button input was properly registered.
This is a small adaptation, but magnetic pedal shuffle has been expelled with some re -design attention to create a smooth, quiet shift. I would say more than that, it feels better than what he changed gears on the old T248.
Talking about it, before there was a digital display monochrome and there was a limited angle of view, but it is now very fast and thus much more useful. You don’t have a dynamic Rio counter, but you have an RPM light that lets you tell you that when it’s time to expire. While in the central display, you can have the current LAP Delta.
I am a special fan of the pedal, and they contribute to the quality of the driving experience in this bundle. Load cell brakes are great that can be adjusted by elastromers and springs by strictly adJ, and when you apply a pedal input, it is as good as to plant.

I loaded my usual racing titles to test this latest T248R wheel, as I already know how they feel both belt -driven and direct drive wheels.
Happiness, each title recognizes the wheel to some extent and offered sensible default mapping and values.
Here is the strength level of opinion of different forces through the thrust master’s ‘boost’ tech, though in practice, it is not different from adjusting the power of any wheels through the game or the manufacturer app. Nevertheless, I adjusted various powers during the test.
Finally, and the important thing is that all the tests were done on a desktop setup, as this bundle cannot be easily applied to the SIM vein like my playlet.
