In 2024, Apple promised an important Siri upgrade that would better understand the sound orders, run a more intuitive model from the bottom, and the system would be “deeply integrated”. Instead, the upgraded version was delayed due to performance issues, and instead Apple integrated Chat GPT, so it does not appear to be behind the AI race, without really upgrading Siri from the ground. The purpose of Apple’s implementation is to control your iPhone, iPad, or Mac as you want, but without touch input.
Gorman does not find technical details, but says Apple is actively examining this feature to clarify performance issues, especially in the “high stream” scenario that may include financial transactions. Currently, it is examining the upgraded Siri to work with popular third party apps, such as all -trails, Amazon, Facebook, teamo, threads, Uber, WhatsApp, and YouTube. However, the success of this feature is in the app’s intentions that work without interruptions without any apps, which is why Apple’s engineers are working hard to ensure wider compatibility.
Possibly as part of the iOS 26.4, Apple is likely to end Siri’s experience in the spring of 2026. If well implemented, this agent can open a period of mobile use and hopefully encourage Google to do so.
