It is said that the WhatsApp for Android is testing a new feature for users that can send motion photos. According to the feature tracker, the new feature was seen in the latest beta version of the WhatsApp and may be available to some beta testers. With this, users can send motion photos, which occupy audio and movements before and after taking a shot. Separately, quick messaging platforms are also said to be working on user names that users can share with others rather than their phone numbers.

WhatsApp can soon support Motion Photo

According to the WhatsApp feature tracker Wabetainfo, the quick messaging platform is checking support for motion photo. The new feature was first seen in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.22.29, which is now available on Google Play. Beta -testers should be able to access and test the feature. All beta testers can take a few days before roll.

Based on the combined screenshots of the feature tracker, Motion Photo will be indicated by a new icon that will have a play button surrounded by a small circle. This icon will be displayed on the image selection interface, where users can select photos from their gallery to send to another user or a group.

The new icon appears in the top right corner, and taping it will allow users to send a picture as a motion image. WhatsApp has described Motion Photo as a recording of the moments before taking a picture. The quick messaging platform will also support audio in the recording.

In particular, motion photo is a feature that is available on many Android smartphones. Samsung sends this ability as a motion photo, while Google sends it as a top shot in Pixel smartphones. Customers will only be able to send these recording if their device naturally supports it. However, even if a device does not allow users to capture motion photos, they can still see them when they send them to others.

Once this feature will be removed to all users, it will eliminate the problem where sending motion photos will turn them into video files. There is no word from the WhatsApp when it can be removed from the son.
