International mobile providers based in the United States, Phones are expanding their global image by increasing support for local phone numbers in five additional countries: UK (+44), Mexico (+52), Hong Kong (+852), Sweden (+46), and Chile (+56). This indicates a change that users can be connected across the borders without relying on traditional roaming or without awakening multiple SIM cards.
So far, phones were limited to the use of phone numbers in the United States and Canada. With this new rollout, users from seven supporters can now either get a new local number or port in the current country. This means that in passengers, remote workers and international families, now using the same SIM or ESIM and phones plan, how they handle their mobile identities are more flexible.
According to the company, this is the first step in expanding its global number, as more country is expected to support in the coming months. For this, Simon Tian (founder and CEO of phones) added:
We are creating a global wireless service that feels local, no matter where you are. More countries are on the way when we bring smooth and border lace contacts to consumers in every corner of the world.

The new feature is made in the phone app and allows users to maintain multiple phone numbers from different countries at the same time. The upcoming calls and texts will reach the user, regardless of which number the sender has dial, and the selected number in the app can be brought to the outgoing calls to appear local.

Phones say this feature is especially useful for digital nomads, remote workers and small businesses who work internationally. Placing local numbers can help promote trust with local consumers and make communication smooth, especially in areas where international numbers can be filtered or neglected.
This update also includes support for porting local numbers from newly involved countries, which has 24/7 assistance available. This makes Fonus one of the few MVNOs focusing on removing global communication friction by combining international access under a subscription.
As always, we recommend compares this extension to other international powers from providers like Google FI. Although the phones offer a more convenient experience of flat rates, some competitors provide only wider roaming coverage or data projects that are repeatedly made in accordance with flights. Nevertheless, for those users who want sound, text and data in the borders without switching numbers, the phones are forming to become another complete alternative.
I think, repeatedly, this move, this move has a lot of meaning. Hoping between countries is a huge convenience to have a local number – not only to make logistics such as booking rides or local calls, but also to reach contacts without paying roaming fees. There is less problem with management of multiple SIM cards or dealing with temporary apps.
