I used to drink lemon balm tea every day for a week – what happened here
Was lemons balming the secret to feeling calm? What happened here when I pledged to drink lemon balm tea every day for a week.
Day 1-3
Before you pop the kettle, I had to find a lemon balm for drinking. I have a fresh mint plant in my garden, so I assumed that I would be able to buy a lemon balm plant in my local supermarket, and that I would be able to stew my tea leaves.
Unfortunately, it was a bit difficult to find, so I had to buy dry leaves on the Internet instead. I also found a mixture of ‘happy’ tea that contained lemon balm, turmeric and apples.
In my first few days, I pledged to shatter the lemon balm on my desk. I usually drink peppermint tea, and the lemon balm was very similar. In addition, this article gave me an excuse to go away from my desk for tea break.

Day 4-5
While I wasn’t feeling too calm immediately, I needed to urinate more. Along with being filled with antioxidants, drinking more tea means more water.
It was easy that I was challenging it here during the heatwave in the UK, so staring at two pairs of tea during the day helped me to drink more water and avoid water shortage.
In addition, another advantage is that lemon balm tea is naturally free of caffeine. I found that I was drinking less coffee, which is always a good thing, because very much I feel even more restless.
Day 6-7
By the end of the week, I was fully mounted with lemon balm tea and could easily switch from peppermint. I liked the taste and when I wanted a little punch, I turned into a mixture of ‘Happy Tea’.
I did not feel any difference in my digestive tract, but I often do not suffer from bloating or indigestion.
Although I am not sure that my nervous system felt calm, I found out that my step step by step and tea making, or sitting with one after sleeping my son, helped me calm the quiet moments during a very busy day.
I am leaning balm tea, so by the end of the month, I can calm down in chaos, I will become an Instagram perfect mother. Until then, when I throw my toddler on the kitchen wall, I will take a deep breath.
