- The team behind the graphinos platform has apparently criticized Fairphone General 6 for security issues.
- The team added that the fair phone model sold in the United States lacks “minimum” privacy and security concerns.
- Even the standard Fairphone General 6 was criticized for delaying software patch and lack of a safe element.
Update, July 18, 2025 (04:40 pm et): We have just heard from a fair phone in response to our inquiry. In a statement, the company explains:
Fairphone and Morina have a strong, proud partnership that offers a safe, durable and modular smartphone alternative to many users around the world – with obvious attention to longevity and lasting price. We are determined to supply the operating system that meet the expectations of market quality safety. Although we respect that there are different views on mobile security, our roots are in recognized standards such as the Android Enterprise (AER) and in the longevity of the industry to advance the bar.
The original article, July 18, 2025 (04:36 AM et): If you want a repaired and sustainable smartphone experience, Fairphone General is one of the best Android phones. The device is also coming to the United States with Google Free /E /OS software instead of traditional Android OS. However, it seems that if you care about security, you should think twice about getting this variable.
The team behind the security -based graphinos Android platform has made some claims about the Fairphone General 6 running /E /OS.
Is the American Fairphone General 6 Security Dream?
Fairphone General 6 devices running /E /OS apparently surpasses the Android Open Source project “far behind” in terms of OS and browser screws. In addition, the team has alleged that /E /OS “disabled or false” important privacy and security concerns.
Unfortunately, standard Fairphone General 6 was not protected from criticism, either:
The Fairphone 6 does not live with standard Android Privacy/Security Patch and has no safe factor to provide working disk encryption for ordinary users, which does not use a strong password other than other flaws.
The team explained, “The lack of thrilling of the safe factor for disk encryption means that users with ordinary 6-8 digits or basic passwords will not be safe against extracting their data.” “Forcing the majority of users to force or password is trivial without thrilling a secure factor.”
How is it compared to other phones? The team noted that Pixel phones and iPhones have a “high quality” safe factor, while recent Samsung phones have a “basic” safe element.
However, Graphinos developers alleged that /E /OS standard Fairphone is worse than General 6 software because it is “misleading” users. Further, the team has claimed that UI is really being provided for /E /OS security patches. Alternative Fair Phone OS also has a “wrong” security patch level as it ignores parts of the security patch.
In addition, it is said that browser updates are “major problems”. This is an important issue, as many apps are pre -determined by the OS WebView, which uses the system web browser effectively. Finally, developers claim that /E /OS has their own “invasive” services and still use Google’s various services, despite their claims.
We have contacted both Fair Phones and Morina (behind the Company /E /OS) to comment on these claims. We will update the article with the companies returning to us.
