Apple’s AI’s capabilities have been less impressive to date, but a new feature is coming with iOS 26 that is really really easy: adding goods to your calendar with a screenshot.

I’ve been testing this feature for the past few weeks in the developer son, and I am glad to report that it works, easily makes it its favorite feature of Apple Intelligence. It’s a lesser bar to admit – and it’s not like the Android version – but it is a good change to use the AI feature that feels like it is in fact saving me time.

It may not seem so interesting to add things to your calendar, but I am a person who is bad in calendars. I will confidently add events to the wrong day, put them on the wrong calendar, or forget to include them at all. This is not my best quality.

IOS version of “Use AI to add things to your calendar” in visual intelligence. The ability to make the photo -based calendar events was added to iOS 18, and now iOS 26 is spreading anything on your screen. You just take a screenshot and show a hint with the words “adding to the calendar”. Tap it, and you will see the preview of the event that includes high level details. You can tap to edit the event or just create it if everything looks good and you are ready to move forward with your life.

None of this will be useful if it doesn’t work permanently. Thankfully, this happens. I have yet to see him a wrong day, time, or location for an incident – though it does not accounted for the time zone difference in any case. Although for most parts, everything goes to my calendar as it should be, and whenever it saves me a calendar app journey, I am a little happy. I have just reached a certain extent that it cannot create many events from the screenshot. It lands on the ground for the first time and suggests an event based on it. So if you want They A type of functionality from your AI, you will need an Android phone.

Gemini Assistant has been able to include events based on what has been on your screen since August 2024, and has increased the support of the Samsung calendar last January. To access it, you can ask for Google Assistant and tap an icon that says “Ask about the screen.” Gemini develops a screenshot that refers to, and then you just type or talk to add an event to your calendar. It has failed to work for me just a few months ago, but now this mail is better.

I gave the Gemini assistant a group of pre -school events on Pixel 9, all of which were listed in my calendar at the end of an email, and he created a program for everyone on the right day. In a separate case, he also saw that the events I was involved was listed in the eastern time and that the difference was calculated. In some instances, it also filled the screen based on the text -based event. I Plus Gemini is used in the Google Calendar on my laptop, because when you literally use any Google Product, Gemini always revolves around the corner, and it turned the list of school closure dates into calendar events.

It’s great and all, but is it just an AI branding of some current feature? As far as I can tell, not at all. The versions of this feature were already on both platforms, but in a very basic form. On my Apple Intelligence less iPhone 13 mini, you can tap the date in an email to add the option to add to your calendar. But it uses the e -mail article line as the title of the event, which is a decent point of time, but it is not ideal to include five events in my calendar titled “Pre School July Newsletter”. Android will also indicate the screenshot to include the event in your calendar, but most of the dates and times are wrong. It seems that AI is better suitable for this particular work, and I’m ready to embrace it.
