Realme has officially revealed when we can expect the Realme GT8 series. The Chinese launch is scheduled for October 21st at 3:00 PM local time. Apart from the release date, Realme also teased some impressive specs.
Unfortunately, the teaser only talks about the GT8 Pro, so we don’t know which features will carry over to the vanilla GT8 as well. In any case, the Pro is expected to come with a bigger battery, new charging capabilities, and a thinner and lighter body.

The GT8 Pro’s battery will be upgraded from 6,500 mAh to 7,000 mAh in the GT7 Pro, while the super-fast 120W wired charging will be retained. This time, the GT8 Pro also includes fast wireless charging, rated at 50W, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Bypass charging is also on the list of features.
Realme also reminds us that the GT8 Pro can play nice with other non-proprietary charging standards. For example, the Pro will support 50W PPS PD, 44W UFCs and 36W PD.
Interestingly, the phone will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, tipping the scales at 214g and measuring 8.2mm thick, despite having a larger battery and wireless charging coil.
When it comes to performance, the GT8 Pro will, of course, run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. In fact, we’ve already tested a prototype in our office showing impressive raw performance.
The chipset will be paired with a custom dedicated R1 gaming display chip. This isn’t the first time Real has used a chip like this, but this time it’s more capable. It can simultaneously boost super-resolution rendering and frame rate, allowing you to enjoy games in QHD resolution while utilizing a 144Hz refresh rate display. The chip is said to be optimized for certain games and supports high refresh rate gaming in some titles such as Valorant Mobile, Delta Action and Arena Breakout.
