- Android TV devices are receiving new content tabs on the home screen via server side update.
- These new tabs include “Top Seller movies,” famous movies and shows “and” Trending on Google “on the home screen.
- There is no way to get out of the update, so users who dislike the disorder may consider converting to alternative Android TV launchers.
As a platform, Android TV, is still very high, but it is shadowed by Google TV, a material engine that sits on the upper part of the platform. Users have frequently complained about updates from Android TV about updates on Google TV that they change their TV and connect sticks to a break, and you may blame them for their at least specific hardware and an interference advertising platform. Android TV has been able to keep relatively clean with these changes, but it seems that the material engine is coming for it.
Reddit user Anirodudia found that his Android TV has recently been updated for displaying three additional tabs in the home screen. Their TV had already come with one Play next Tabs, but now they also had tabs Top -selling moviesFor, for, for,. Famous movies and showsAnd Trending on Google.
I have received new tabs on my Sony Braivia X80H, which runs on Android TV 10 with the December 2024 security patch. Content tabs are similar in the category on Google TV. Not surprisingly, from the level of content tabs that I have not installed, so I need to subscribe to new services to see them.
What is even worse is that some of these categories are already on the home screen-on my Sony TV, I already have a row of films sold on the home screen, so now I finish two rows of advertising of the same content.

This change is likely to rotate in Android TV devices through the Android TV Home App or Android TV Core Services app’s server side update, so you have no way to avoid it until you change the launcher.
Many people who are trapped with Android TV will hate that their home screen now has more random and high levels of minetization to advance “recommendations” for Google. Some people may like this change, though, this will allow them to discover new content on the home screen, though one can argue that there were already many ways to do so.
If you have received and hates new tabs, you may consider converting alternative Android TV launchers such as a proklava launcher that lets you dig a clean TV experience recommendations. You will probably get faster and sleek experience than the stock launcher, so try it.
