The best fitness tracker can tell you a lot about your overall health – designed to be worn 24/7, they will detect your heart rate, daily activity levels, calories burning and how well you sleep.
And now, US Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior has said he would like to see every American wearing some forms of health or fitness device by 2029.
“My vision is that every American wears to wear in four years,” he said at a Congress hearing last week. It was announced, its department will soon launch one of the “largest campaign in HHS history”, which says it will help Americans “control their health.”

We do not yet know the details. This is unclear, for example, after the recent Trump phone, the government will provide subsidy to make existing devices more affordable or release Trump’s branded health tracker.

During the Congress hearing, Kennedy Jr. said his agency, which is behind ‘Mac America’s re -healthy’, is looking for ways to make the price of glucose monitors more accessible in the movement.
He also suggested that weight loss drug drugs can be a better solution to diabetes and weight control, and describe friends who “lost diabetes” after wearing a glucose monitor.
Evidence shows that diet and exercise changes can change type 2 diabetes, and that glucose monitoring can be effective in encouraging patients to make better decisions.
Serious questions raised
At the time of writing, we do not have a lot of information about this campaign, but questions have been raised about consumer health data protection.
Will the government or insurance providers access our fitness tracker data? And how will our privacy be protected?
It is also worth noting that while fitness trackers are a great source, they will not be suitable for everyone. It is estimated that 28.8 million Americans will suffer from eating disorders in their lives, and psychologists have traced the recent increase in arthraxia, physical diaconphia and anxiety.
Wearing a fitness tracker you can increase all this with the arrival of data you receive.
However, at the level, fitness trackers have the potential to help you make a healthy choice and get a deep understanding of your overall health. Trackers like Apple Watch will inform you if it detects the irregular heart rhythm, which can save your life.
But this is not the same size solution, and the fitness tracker can never replace the guidance of medical professionals. Finally, fitness trackers are just a piece of health puzzle, and now, we have more questions than answers
