Fairphone announced its latest sustainable smartphone with Fairphone 6A Fairphone (General 6). It brings some remarkable upgrades above its predecessor, which includes the Snapdragon 7S General 3 chip set, a large 4,415mAh battery and a new appliance system.
It’s still a phone made for the last. Fairphone 6 is equally easy to repair as before, the company provides spare parts and video lessons in which all key components are replaced. 8GBL PPDR is the same ram/storage trim with 5 x RAM and 256GB storage, which is now taking the speed of UFS 3.1. The storage is expanded through the microSD XC slot. The new 4,415mAh battery supports 30W wired charging speed.
The software department is also interesting, as the Fairphone 6 comes with two options. “Regular” Fair Phone 6 Near Stock Android 15 Shoes, but you can also choose the “de Google” version on /E /OS. The latter is still based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), but it leaves Google Apps and Services for users aware of privacy.
