Microsoft’s family safety feature is designed to prevent specific types of websites from children. Apparently, it is also stopping Google’s Chrome browser – but it has a job.
Chrome, a web browser that was launched by Google in 2008 – is not working when consumers have a family safety feature. The first report of this problem is until June 3, when a user posted on Google’s online support board.
The user noted that when the person tried to use it, Chrome is constantly closed. Restarting their computer and re -installing Chrome did not work.
The user wrote, “This is the only thing that keeps saying,” no updates are available, “the user wrote.
This problem should only be on Windows computers that are set up to use the Microsoft Family Safety feature, which filters the content and allows parents to manage screen time and track online activity. (Family safety app is also.)
Microsoft’s representative did not immediately respond to a comment request.
If your Chrome is crashing caused by this problem what to do
There are two paths around this problem. Perhaps the easiest way to follow these steps is:
- Go to https://familysafety.microsoft.com or open the Family Safety Mobile app.
- Choose your child’s name.
- Go to the Windows tab, then on apps and games, and unlock the chrome. A different format at this stage will be to disable the “filter inappropriate websites” under the Edge tab – but it also completes the family safety feature, and allows your child to surf any websites, including adult content sites.
Verj also described another way to scrat the issue. Some users have reported that Chrome was allowed to work with a family safety feature to change .exe a bit (eg “Chrome 1”).
