I have tested a new coffee maker here in Tekradar for the past year, and some have been real gems.
For example, Jora J10 is a complete automatic powerhouse for making hot and cold drinks when touching the button, while the manual smug mini pro is cleanly beautiful, and perfect for consistency.
However, it doesn’t matter how many other machines I try, at the end of the day, there is still only one sitting at my kitchen counter: Giagia Classic Pro.
You can like
It is a very famous small manual espresso machine, and for good reason. It’s a lot of fun to use, it’s a dream of tinker – and it also has a moderate price at about $ 500 / £ 400 / AU $ 800.
- Gaggia RI9380 in Amazon Classic Pro in £ 549
There is a lot of like this machine. In our Giagia Classic Pro Review, we said that this is a “good looking, well -manufactured devices” and that “it proved to be extremely easy to prepare a severe, smooth espresso with very low experience.”
However, when new, Lady Giagia (as we call it at home) is not without its rates.
For example, there is no number of space between the portfall and drip tray, which means you can only fit the small cup (I usually use a shot glass that has a hidden measure). In addition, the tray is so tight that you can forget about putting a scale down to weigh the coffee as soon as it gets out.
There is no PID controller to keep the temperature stable as you find some premium coffee machines, either, and the small boiler of the giga means that you can run out of steam before you produce your milk.
On the contrary, there is a large group of hobbies that are bent with this very popular small machine, sharing suggestions, and even selling kits, which allows you to turn it into your heart content.
Friends I finally upgraded the PID from Barista Gadget. From r/gaggiaclassic
For example, the colors of the US -based Barista gadget and the UK -based site sell long trays that can adjust the scale, and have a low tray so you can use a large cup. There are also devices that permanently pour small amounts of water in the boiler, so you can keep the milk longer without drying.
Coffee sheds also make heads for the steam arm of the machine, as well as color lighting kits to illuminate the water tank more easily (and it looks like gaming PC). And if your giga still doesn’t look cool, you can also lift a wooden knock to replace the plastic, which controls the steam pressure.
Is really feeling gumi? Take a look at gigyano, an open source project that aims to make your machine as permanent as possible, so that you can control the pressure, temperature and flow of each shot.
