The long -term launch of Tesla’s robotics service in Austin is scheduled for June 22, and it seems that the company’s initial offer will be excellent. Financial Times Tesla writes that Tesla will have only around 10 cars available for riders and the company plans to “avoid the most difficult intersections of the city”. If problems arise, remote operators will also be able to take control of cars to ensure that they reach their final destination.

Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk told Cnbc In May, the robotics service can be launched with less than a dozen cars, so it is not surprising, but the actual scope may be even smaller. Analyst New York Times Tesla’s robotics talked about riders only “will be available to company employees or invited guests.” This service may take months for the wider people a month.

Musk formally introduced the company’s robotics service and its self -driving cyber cab in an event in October 2024, but this idea has been a promise feature for Tesla owners longer. The pitch is that since all Tesla are equipped with the cameras essential to the company’s self -driving system, none of them can be converted into a taxi. Musk believes that autonomous transport can be so widespread that it becomes cheaper like a large -scale transit, while relying on a human driver is more safe.

Whether the company’s full self -driving system can remove it, this is an open question. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently being investigated for Tesla’s independent driving accidents. The company has also allegedly prevented the city of Austin from handing over its robotics records, which suggests that it is at least automatically what it will perform.
