Weltrox AF50mm F2 Air: A minute Review
This is not my first villain lens review, nor will it be my last, because the Chinese lens maker is on a roll, which produces the best optics for all skills and the best optics for budget users. The recent cinema lens is coming to the end of the lens, which can cost up to $ 200,000, 50 mm F / 2 air costs less than $ 200 / £ 200 / AU $ 320, and offers the best money.
This is a small and lightweight prime that is available for Sony E and Nican Z Mounts – I had the latter for this review – with a decent maximum F/2 aperture to defuse the background. You don’t get the fastest detail or the creamist Bokia that I’ve never seen – these people will like to check the best weltrox 135 mm F/1.8 lab – but Weltrox is for 50 mm F/2 fans, especially portrait photography, and an excellent lens for a standard zoom.
I must have preferred to bring the minimum focus distance closer to the lens, which reinforces its daily photography credentials, while some external controls will be welcomed to accelerate changes such as AF / MF switch. However, the Weltrox AF50mm F2 provides air performance and image quality that accepts its price-and the fact is that the proprietary camera brand alternatives have been squeezed with aggressive prices.

Viltrox AF 50mm F/2 Air: Price and Availability
- Sony e and Nican Z is available for mounts
- List price of $ 199 / £ 229 / AU $ 319, but it can usually be found to be minimal
Walking around $ 200 / £ 200 / AU $ 320 and often available for a little less, the Weltrax AF 50mm f / 2 air is an excellent value prime lens, especially when you consider its construction quality and optical performance.
According to the price, it reminds me of the old Canon EF and Nikan F Mount Cheap Nifty fifty for the DSLR, which is the first prime for the fans. Although bad news for some people – Weltrax lenses are only available for Sony E and Nicon Z Lens Mounts.
Viltrox AF 50mm F/2 Air: Design
- Weight is only 7.8oz / 220g
- No external buttons or control
- Sony e and Nican Z is available for mounts
The 50mm F/2 air lens, as shown, is designed with light weight emphasis on absolute performance – it is especially positively phenomenon than alternatives like Nicon’s own Z50 mm F/1.4.
It is also a small lens. I made a 50 mm F/2 air dress with Nicon Z6 II, and I can barely feel the lens. It is not often that I describe a camera / lens as heavy behind the pair, but here it is.
It is also the best price, which sales often sink under 200 / / / AU $ 319, and its list is a bit higher. For the context, the Nican owner is doubled (and double the weight), while the Nican zid is four times the price of 50 mm F/1.8.

Weltrox lenses are also well-made-an uneven metal barrel and the confidence of the backbone, though there is no proper weather seal to talk about (there are also compromises with low-cost lenses).
There is a heart open -shaped focus color with smooth and easy rotation, and it controls. Is No AF / MF switch, no optical stability, no focus distance – this is a simple gear.
Lack of control, depending on which camera you connect with the lens, bring a slight change in camera settings. My camera does not have an AF / MF switch, and because the lens does not need to dive into the menu to switch between both ways to focus, which may be disappointing.
Otherwise, there is little talk about the design – it’s a simple and lightweight optic that accepts 58 mm threaded filters and is provided with a decent lens hood.

Viltrox AF 50mm F/2 Air: Performance
- Ideal for bright maximum F/2 aperture portraits
- Abilities to pay a lot of limited attention
- speed of snappy autofox
This is not a quality lens, but for the initial and fans, the optical quality and performance of the Weltrax 50 mm F/2 air is perfectly enough.
Bright, zoom lens batting ensures maximum F/2 aperture light amounts and this lens defects the background of unrealistic portraits along with low light photography. Makes great too. Bokia is quite smooth – I didn’t really find an ugly ‘onion color’ effect that could be clear in cheap optics.

Optical explanation is perfectly acceptable, even if it is not the fastest 50 mm lens I used. With a slight speed in the post, most users should be completely happy with the results.
I shot all the pictures in JPEG and non -serious raw, and with lens reforms there are minor signs of chromatic turmoil, but Weltrox has a reasonable handle of such deterioration.

Note that the slightest lens in the middle of the frame to flare up while shooting upright sunlight(Image Credit: Tim Colyman)For the head and pictures, the bucia is usually large, smooth and rounded, which forms a small cat’s eye corner(Image Credit: Tim Colyman)There is very little symbols about Bokia Fringing (technically known as longer color)(Image Credit: Tim Colyman)
I found 1.67 feet / 0.51m less fox distance, which is slightly limited to nearby shots-the maximum increase is a modest 0.11x. It is not really a macro lens, and perhaps less than everyday lenses, in which the picture is its strongest suit.
With such a small and lightweight combination of the Ashiprical (ESF), the ED and the lens elements, the STM Auto Focus motor of 50 mm F/2 is an easy task. Not once, I didn’t feel slow auto -focus due to lenses instead of camera.

Shot using a maximum F/2 aperture, in this bright scenario is clear(Image Credit: Tim Colyman)I closed the aperture on F/5 at which the vengting is too much ended(Image Credit: Tim Colyman)Using F/2 aperture helped to separate the tree in the foreground. The colorful barrier is well controlled, but the veggy means that the corners are a bit dark. (Image Credit: Tim Colyman)Stopping at F/5, the brightness is more permanent throughout the frame. Overall, Weltrox AF50 mm F2 air is a capable actor, especially when you consider its compact size, low price and bright maximum aperture. This is an ideal choice for budget users who are seeking steps from a standard zoom cut lens.

How did I experience Waltraks AF in 50 mm F2 air
- I have used it in several months of debt period
- I made the lens with Nican Z6 II
- I have commonly used it in different scenarios, in the appropriate weather, and examined the image quality in various aperture settings.
For several months I have made the Weltrox AF50mm F2 air Z -Mount version pair with Nicon Z6 II, during this time it has seen moderate use in the appropriate weather. In terms of size, the camera and lenses are perfectly balanced, with the heavy pinning of the wrist there is no indication of the stress.
I have bounced the portrait with the aperture wide open open in F/2, and has also taken a series of images to compare the speeding in each aperture setting and examine the deterioration of lenses in the F/2.
