We have seen what a chatgot can do on the screen. But what happens when the AI steps fully from the screen?
This is the question that revolves around the upcoming device with rumors. A physical AI assistant designed in collaboration with Legendary Apple Designer Jonny Iow and its hardware startup.
Although the details are still wrapped up, preliminary rumors suggest that this may launch a completely new product category, and possibly a direct challenge for the role of smartphones in our lives.
A screen lace, wearing AI Side Cook
The first thing to know is that this device may not be seen as you were addicted. According to leak reports, the concept of Openi’s hardware is expected to be aware of pocket size, screen lace and context, which will contain microphones and cameras that allow it to “see” and “listen” to your environment.
You can like
Think of it as a chat GPT that follows you, minus screen fatigue.
It is said that a version of this device is similar to the iPod shuffle (Remember?) You are worn in your throat, with subtle touch or sound -based control that can allow you to interact with open models in real time. Whether you are walking on the road, making food in your kitchen, or out of running tasks, it seems that AI is a more smooth, natural way to integrate into everyday life, but need to be tapped without tap or typing.

AI as a new interface
If Open CEO is the way to Sam Altman, this device can eventually completely replace your smartphone. Although it may seem bold, it is part of a change in the industry moving towards computing computing, where AI assistants find you in the background instead of waiting for you to open the app.
And Openi is not the only condition on this future. Human AI Pin, Rabbit’s R1, and Meta Ray Ben Smart Glasses have all claims that AI will soon become a wearing, conversation partner and move beyond the smartphone apps.
But the advantage of the open is clear: This chat is ready at the top of GPT’s mass capabilities, which already includes vision, sound, memory and real -time reasoning. Combine it ive design legacy (it helped to create the iPhone, IMAC, and Apple Watch), and you have found a dream team that is capable of explaining the next major tech category.
When is it coming?
We are still a few years left. According to analyst Ming Chi Kovo, the first device of the Open AI is expected to be debuted in the late 2026 or early 2027, likely to start mass production after that.
My industry’s research indicates the following with regard to the new AI hardware device in collaboration with Jonny Io with Open AI: 1. Mass production is expected to start in 2027.2. There will be assembly and shipping outside China to reduce geo -political risks, with Vietnam at this time… pic.twitter.com/5ileyejnyvMay 22, 2025
This not only gives the openware time to detect the hardware, but also how users would like to really interact with the screenless, AI -powered device. Will it remind you in your ear? Will you help you to visit traffic while walking or a motorcycle? Can you also summarize your emails before sitting at your desk?
Details are yet to be seen-but one thing is sure: Openi is sometimes moving beyond making a chatgot as a tool, which makes a human, capable of wearing and always present.
And if it succeeds, your next assistant cannot stay in your pocket, it can stay around your neck or trim your t -shirt.
