ONN 4K Plus is the closest thing to the chrome cast successor. It is only very cheap at $ 30, and Google provides TV experience with a little mess. The ONN4K Pro has only added some more features to $ 20, but if you want a cheap Google TV box with a little extra performance, the ONN 4K Plus is a tremendous purchase.
When ONN 4K Pro arrived at 2024, I found that it was a high choice in many ways for retired chromkaste with Google TV. And even despite the Google TV Streamer’s Sudo Chrome cast replacement, ONN’s most expensive model is a strong budget streamer, which has proudly proud of some benefits on Google’s latest device.
Although probably not seeing a direct successor for any other year or so, it has not stopped Walmart’s store tech brand from introducing new streaming hardware. Enter the ONN 4K Plus, even more cheap alternatives that cost only $ 30, which wants to take the departed chromcost space as a cheap Android TV stream of choice.
I decided to give the new unit a test drive to see how the ONN4K Plus compares to other budget streaming devices operated by Plus Android and top through Google TV, such as Google TV or ON 4K Pro.
Should you trust a product by wool?
As I mentioned during my review of ONN4K Pro, store brands may have mixed reputation. However, I have found reasonably reliable for items like keyboards, cables, USB hubs, and similar accessories. I have used the ON4K Pro since my initial review as my primary living room streaming device and has enjoyed this experience as a whole, despite some minor defects related to remote and other small problems.
With budget brands such as ONN affiliated with Walmart, however, it is important to remember that its main focus is more than a widespread production than strict quality control. Such brands also use several factories or manufacturing partners, which causes variable long -term reliability. Personally, I owned ONN products that lasted for years, but I have also encountered at least one USB hub that failed in a day, requires a return. My advice is that you want to know what you are entering, and be aware of the return policy you buy from, only in that case.
What is ONN 4K Plus, and how does it compare with 4K Pro?

Android 14 is the latest streaming device of the 4K Plus Walmart, which works as a direct successor to 2023 wool 4K, instead of competing directly with the 4K Pro available directly. Hands -free voice control, a remote trace, and a full USB 3.0 port, to connect external drives and wired controllers include pro premium capabilities. All these features are especially absent on 4K Plus.
Instead, 4K Plus offers a very small form element, making it easier to hide behind your TV. The remote resembles Pro’s remote, leaving its white color and minor buttons laying adjustments, which includes a new “free TV” button on the bottom of the house key.

Despite losing certain features of Pro, Plus has a special advantage: a fast processor. Pro used the old ammologic S905x4, while 4K Plus upgrades the new S905x5m. This latest processor improves 4K Pro, Chrome cast with Google TV, and even Google TV streams in terms of benchmark performances. Although benchmarks do not always translate directly into the use of the real world, the new chip is clearly prepared for work based on my experience.
Of course, Plus sacrifices in terms of Ram and storage because you only get 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, versus 3GB RAM and Pro double the storage on the pro. Thankfully, you will not feel these limits during normal streaming sessions. I handled the ONN4K Plus easily and quickly filled apps, which often feel more responsible than pro -daily use.
ONN 4K Plus and Pro offer a lot of similar experiences, though a small dongle has a slightly fast processor and it pours some features at the high end of pro.
Although I never realized that my ONN4K Pro is slow, sometimes some menu options will look at the slightest breaks and the stathers. At that time, this was not a big deal because I experienced the worst break with Google TV with Chrome cast. Now that I have used Plus, I am seeing very few performance hiccups on the pro that did not appear when presenting it in the old chromcost. Be aware that the differences are subtle, though, so do not expect the difference between night and day.

I would also argue that Plus can also be better, as most of my defects around my pro are related to hand -free sound and remote finishes, both of which are absent in addition to it. Nevertheless, Pro performs well, maybe some work is a hair slower than Plus.
This department may not be so fast in the processing, but the Better is still good for DIY adaptation, gaming, basic imitation and other expansion. I tried to ignore some sports and utilities on Plus, and when it was still possible to use a center to increase its built-in USB-C port, the experience was not the same. One, the USB-C port is only 2.0, so it already has a limit on the pro on the pro on the pro. Sports and other utility are even more ram, which was another obstacle when checking the ONN4K Plus.
How does ONN 4K Plus compare with Google TV streams and chrome cast?

Considering that the ONN 4K Pro is even cheaper, it should not be surprising that 4K Plus does not compete directly with Google’s premium starter in terms of properties, though its new immunologist can theoretically improve Google’s MDt8696 charging.
However, if you are looking for a straight stream straight with Google TV, daily experience on 4K Plus is compared to a more expensive Google device – minus advanced smart hub, growing ram, and expanded storage. Given that Google’s latest stammer is double the actual price of Chrome cast, the ONN4K Plus fills the gap well -closure of chromcost.

Plus Chrome Mirror Mirror Smooth view: Here is no full USB port, remote dirender, or hands -free control. Its compact design and simple functionality are closely align with chromcost, though packed in a small box instead of dongle. According to performance, Plus clearly takes the old chrome cast with Google TV, which doubles the sharp CPU, GPU, and storage. Both devices are limited to only 2GB of Ram, but I never felt honestly as if the ONN 4K Plus was slow during streaming, and more than what I felt smooth than what I did.
ONN 4K Plus Review Decisions: Is Walmart’s latest streamer worth it, or is there any better option?

With the Chrome Cast Brand now retired and directly on the horizon, not the official successor, the ONN 4K Plus fills a niche as the best alternative to chromcoas with Google TV if you are primarily satisfied with the basic streaming functionality in 4K quality. Plus line’s main Google TV feels sharp and smooth without changing the user’s experience in a dramatic way. At $ 30, it is also very budget friendly, which saves you about $ 20 compared to ONN4K Pro or $ 70 compared to Google’s Google TV stream.
On the flip side, if you feel like Chrome cast functionality with Google TV is missing, ONN4K Pro (in Walmart. 49.88) has added hands -free sound, more storage, a full USB port, and several other upgrades, which makes it feel more than just a new form of a new form. Personally, I will go with the supporter just because the price difference here is very low.
