Walmart has just announced a major expansion of its drone delivery service in five new cities. These areas include Atlanta, Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte and Houston. It becomes the first retailer to offer drone -based delivery in five states, as the service is already working in Arkansas.
This is not a small beta test, such as some of Amazon’s pilot programs. Walmart says the service is launching 100 stores. This is a thanks to the wing’s partnership, which runs its drones in the FAA guide letters.
“This is a real delivery of a drone on a scale,” said Adam Woodworth, CEO of Wing. “People around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitics have made drone delivery part of their common shopping habits over the past one year. We are now excited to share a very fast delivery experience with millions of people in many US cities.”

These drones can reach six miles from the retail location. Walmart says the service is currently developing, but it may take a year to reach every store. Consumers are encouraged to sign up for notifications when the drone supply opens in their area. The company has noted that it has provided more than 150,000 drones so far, with an average completion time of 19 minutes. However, there is a weight limit, and wing drones will provide only some items.
Royal Amazon recently tested a hiccup with his home drone delivery program. There were two accidents, which forced the company to stop the project a bit. It is now back, and can now provide new items like smartphones and video indoor bulls.
