Samsung Galaxy S25 is enough to see the Edge. Although it only makes a strange compromise to reach 5.8 mm thin, especially in terms of battery capacity, it is still a very high flagship caliber phone. Even it packs the same Snapdragon 8 elite processor as the rest of the Galaxy S25 series.

However, this year we have learned that the latest chip of Qualcomm is a small number, which has demanded a serious cooling to maintain its top performance beyond the short break. The pair that is accompanied by a thin metal chassis, and you have found a prescription from which some red flags are raised. To see if it can still provide the expectation of Samsung fans, I compared the Galaxy S25 Edge in the same price compared to Samsung’s advanced models and rival flagers.

Good news? There are no signs of throttleing or underclawing performance in everyday use. The Galaxy S25 Edge’s CPU and memory formation meet the rest of the series, offering completely bursting performance when needed. He said, “We saw that the phone was heated even during moderate use.” Nevertheless, he worked without breaking the sweat to CPU Heavy Benchmarks like Gack Bench 6 and PC Mark.

However, when you demand the burden of tasks, things take a turn when you imitate extended gaming sessions or runs permanently. To further further, we turned to 3DMark’s wildlife tension tests, which tracked GPU’s performance on 20 minutes of painful runs.

Unfortunately, for the edge, the performance is exactly the Galaxy S25 Ultra gate, and it is only damaged there. The phone quickly falls under the small Galaxy S25, which undoubtedly be the worst in the series, or even in moderate gaming sessions. The contradiction in performance varies in terms of different time frames you are seeing, but the worst thing is that the edge is S25 to 8.5 % slow and quite 24.8 % slow. This is a difference between smooth and chopped frame rates in potentially demanding sports or emulator works. Not good for a phone that costs $ 1,100.

Everyday performance is very good, but under constant pressure, the edges are strictly throuted.

The culprit here is clear: Thermal thrilling. Like every phone of the series, except the ultra, the edge rapidly hit the Samsung’s self-made upper range of 40-45 ° C, which reduces aggressive performance. Although it does not run more hot than its siblings, it retrieves more aggressively, it is only 45 % of its peak score, while 50 % for the galaxy S25 and 52 % for better cool ultra. This is in accordance with the Samsung’s Clem Shell Foldable. Last year’s Galaxy Z Philip 6 managed 47 % stability.

So, sustainable performance is not the strength of the edge. But let’s zoom out and consider the big picture.

Despite the low cost, OnePlus 13 shows what Snapdragon 8 Elite can do with a more strong cooling setup – if performance is your top priority then this is a better choice. Instead, the edge is rapidly slipped towards the same performance as the most cheap Galaxy S24 per.

This does not mean that the edge is a complete lack. Most real -world sports do not punish like artificial stress tests, so maintaining a stable 60FPs still should still be reached without dialing many settings. Even the worst thing is that the edge revolves around the performance of a similar price iPhone 16 Pro Max and when it is under heavy load, the Pixel 9 is beyond the XL, though it pumps more heat than it.

Is Edge’s performance worth trading that is worth the slim design?

You may have already guessed that the Galaxy S25 Edge Performance was not made for fans – Samsung already has an ultrason for them. But it still provides more than a lot of bursting performance for daily tasks. The real problem is that a $ 1,100 phone stress test is behind 99 799 Galaxy S25 and can reach a level of $ 649 S24 FE. This is a perfect reminder of the limits of performance that enforces the ultra -slim design. Probably the most disappointing, this sleek metal construction is not just throttle performance, it makes the heat more high during the use of expansion, especially during the running game.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is clearly designed to bend the heads, but it gives many sacrifices in the name of style. If you pay more than the function, they may still be able to trade offices. If not, your money will increase somewhere else.
