According to a joint details through a tipter, Microsoft can equip its next generation level PC with arm -based processors from AMD. They are expected to reach the level of laptops 7 and the Level Pro 11 models as successors. It is said that the firm’s 2026 device lineup will include models with arm -based chips that can reach a lower price than its current PC. Microsoft currently offers surface devices that are equipped with Snapdragon X series chips from Qualcomm as well as Intel’s X86 processors.
Microsoft to equip some level devices to be equipped with AMD ‘Sound View’ processors
In a post on the NEOGAF forums last month, (via ithome), the user Kapille 2 states that AMD is working on APU -coded Sound View, which will be used for 2026 on Microsoft Surface Lineup. AMD’s new soundview processor is manufactured using 3NM process technology of TSMC.
According to the previous reports, the new AMD’s new soundwave APU will be equipped with two performance core and four performance core. It is expected to include 128-bit LPDDRX-9600 RAM controller. It is said that laptops equipped with this processor have arrived with 16 GB Ram.
If these claims are true, then the number of windows on the arm (WOA) laptop next year will increase. Microsoft already offers surface laptops equipped with Snapdragon X series chips, and adding a new arm -based processor to help more users offer more choice.
This will also be the first time in the years when Microsoft has launched a level device with AMD chip. Based on the desired features, the AMD Sound Wave APU can strengthen more affordable, low -strength surface devices.
Earlier this month, Microsoft launched a new surface pro (12 inches) and a surface laptop (13 -inch) model with Snapdragon X Plus processors. These laptops can perform better than individuals equipped with AMD Sound View APUS.
