Netflix is about to look different on your TV. The company is starting to re -design a large UI for its TV app “in the coming weeks and months” globally, According to a blog post.
“Our re -designed TV homepage is simple, more intuitive and today represents the breadth of entertainment in Netflix,” said Yunus Kim, Chief Product Officer Yunus Kim. “And this is better than the most important thing, which is helping our members easily find shows, movies, direct events and games they would like.”
The home tab now has a huge banner front and center in which you suggest something to see. Scroll down the rows with different repository of items recommended for you, such as “your next watch,” “pick the top of the day,” or “just on the net flax.” Contents can include tags such as “recently included” or “Emmy Award -winning” to give you some more information as to why you want to see something. The new UI also moves the shortcut from the left to a part of the screen.
Kim said, the existing TV was developed around finding UI TV shows and movies, but the new version “is designed to give us more flexible canvas now and in the future.” Theoretically, these changes should make it easier to highlight things like the material (which is investing heavily) directly for network with these changes and the game on your TV (which is currently being tested). Netflix began to test the design again last year.
CTO Elizabeth Stone said on the call, Netflix is also getting new “responsible recommendations” that will be “pulling more signals, as if you are looking at what trailers you are looking for, so we can do a better job you would like to see at that moment.” For example, if you look for ROM COMS and Glenn Powell, Netflix “You will fully adapt your homepage to show you more titles that are related to both.”
