- B&O A1 3rd General promises more boss in the same design
- For 24 hours battery life, and pair with other A1 models
- 9 349 / £ 299 Prices rise compared to the previous model
Bang and Olofson has announced the Baushand A1 3rd General, a new version of the B&O Portable Bluetooth speaker. The new model promises more powerful sound, some new features, and longer battery life, and before you get your predecessor before you take discounts on the old model.
I’ve been a fan of B&O A1 2nd Jane since the release of 2020-this is a Bluetooth speaker I use at home, and I like it for its stylish aluminum design, more full sound than a medium-sized Bluetooth speaker, and the life of a generous battery that is always ready for a weather.
According to the B&O, the A1 3rd general is the “largest vofoor in its class”, which means more powerful and “deep” boss output (with a boss SPL claimed by 64DB, which is 2DB more than 2DB). It looks great for me, assuming that it is well balanced with mids and tagna-as I mentioned above, the original trick of the B&AA 1 2N gene is that it managed a much wider and more rounded sound than the JBL and Sonos.
The battery life has increased from 18 hours to 24 hours, which is really good for any excellent Bluetooth speaker, let a small option leave-even the five-star JBL Flip 7 is limited to 16 hours with its battery expansion feature.

Although the upgrade is more subtle. The wireless connection is Bluetooth 5.1, which looks a bit behind – today many new Bluetooth speakers are bringing new versions, which includes multiple speakers for audio sharing and support for audio sharing.
The B&O has not gone for such an option, but it can be used in a stereo pair with another A1 3rd General, or A1 2nd General (obviously I look at this feature…).
It seems that the other general’s Alexa Voice Assistant Support has been left, but there is still a mic – you can use it as a speaker phone. You have Microsoft Swift Pair and Google Fast Pair to easily connect with these devices.

The design looks widely from the previous model, which is fine by me – I really like the ‘button’ shape, and clean metal completion. It is not worth the pocket like JBL Philip 7, but it is quite thin and can easily slip into a bag anyway.
As before, it is attached to a strap and is classified to IP67, so it can be lighter in the water or is rotating between the sand like a waterproof speaker.
The B&O says it is also the first Bluetooth speaker to become a “bronze level of bronze”, which means that it is made keeping in mind the sustainable methods, and that the design has modulatory that enables it to repair it in the future – which includes a battery.
There are three colors: natural aluminum, honey tone, and eucalyptus green. I do not like later as much as the beautiful jungle Green Finish B&O A1 2nd General and B&O Explore – which is probably my favorite end on any tech product – but it’s still great, as is the tone of honey.
The stumbling block here is really price. At 9 349 / £ 299, this is more expensive than the official price of A1 2nd General’s 9299 / £ 259 – but this model regularly comes at £ 180 / $ 200, and it is only at this affordable price I usually recommend buying people.
JBL Flip 7 has to work hard to feel worth it, at a price twice. But hey, the last version managed it for me.
