    Editor’s note

    • Original review date: November 2024
    • There are no major changes in features and workflow
    • Still not multi-platform
    • Prices same as last year

Update – November 2025: When reviewing the ease package, we were hoping it would see the error of its ways and make PDF software multi-platform, like many other apps in their portfolio. But no: it’s still PC only.

Well, though. It’s still as good as it was – even if it’s only for Windows users. And there haven’t been any notable changes since the last time we reviewed Easy PDF Editor.

What was surprising was that inflation does not believe something easily: the prices that he received last year are the same this year, which put the competition to shame: $ 50 for the year, or on a monthly basis. 19.50. Even the lifetime one-off cost option is the same at $80. He should be congratulated.

    The actual review follows.

      Easeus PDF Editor Subscription Options:

    • 12 month plan -. 26.95 per month ($323.40 total cost)

    Steve Clarke

    Creative software editor

Easeus offers a wide array of tools for both Mac and PC, from backup and data recovery to multimedia capabilities like its video editor and screen recorder. Each tool has been exceptionally well-reviewed since its rollout Techradar Prothanks to exceptional utility and a comfortable, intuitive user experience. But how does the firm fare against the best PDF editor software available for download? We reviewed the latest version.

EASEUS PDF Editor: Pricing and Plans

    • Free but limited, monthly subscriptions, and one-time lifetime purchases are available

Easeus PDF Editor offers plenty to work with, and that obviously comes at a price. But you actually have a few options available on this front.

You can choose to pay anything, but you’ll only get access to some basic tools that might otherwise be one of the The best free PDF editorsand your exported files will be watermarked. Still, it’s a great way to get a feel for the software and see if it’s right for you.

Sign up to the Techander Pro newsletter for all the top news, opinions, features and guidance your business needs to succeed!

After that, you’ve got a couple of subscription options: pay monthly ($20) or yearly ($50). Both unlock all features, including unlimited file conversions, 24/7 technical support, free upgrades (as long as you keep paying), and no watermarks.

It’s obviously cheaper to pay for a year, but if you plan to use this PDF editing software regularly for the foreseeable future, the one-time price of $80 for the ‘lifetime’ option is incredibly attractive. It’s cheaper than 2 years on a subscription (4 months if you pay monthly), and the impressive cherry on top is this: you get free upgrades for life, too. What’s not to like?

    EASEUS PDF Editor: Getting Started

EASEUS PDF Editor during our review

Open the PDF to immediately take it to the ‘Read’ section, but the editing options are just a top menu (Image credit: Insanity)
    • Easy interface to easily navigate editing features

Launch the PDF editor app for the first time and you will be greeted with a very sparse interface. Most of it is blank, save for a row of icons that offer you various options along the right-hand sidebar at the top. Click on the ‘Tools’ button there to replace the currently empty homepage spaces with a row.

As it stands, the interface does exactly what you expect it to: when you need it, when you need it, out of the way while you work on your document.

Open an existing PDF and you’ll immediately be brought into ‘Read’ mode, but check the top of the interface to activate any functionality, after which you’ll see ‘Comment’, ‘Edit’, ‘Protect’, ‘Convert’, and more. Click on any of them for a secondary menu to appear below the first, giving you the entire toolset for your chosen action.

For example ‘Edit’ mode: Click on any paragraph to select the whole. This bounding box mechanism works for any item currently on the page. You are able to resize these boxes, move them around and even delete them. With whole paragraphs selected by default, it’s incredibly easy to make changes to existing PDF text. When you consider that many of the competition limit your editing to a line-by-line basis, the PDF approach is simply more flexible and user-friendly.

You can insert and edit links in the body of your text, and even add headers and footers (a great place to add page numbers, for example). All in all, we found the PDF editor’s interface to be surprisingly competent.

    EASEUS PDF Editor: Editing

    • Good selection of tools for converting formats or converting images to editable text

Editing PDFs may be this software’s bread and butter, but you can do a lot more with it. For one thing, you’re able to convert PDF to Excel, PDF to Word, and PDF to PowerPoint. There are even options to convert different image formats.

In the ‘Protect’ section, you’ll find various options to protect your PDF document, such as setting a password for it, or redoing information you shouldn’t divulge, but this is where you can set up signatures, making it easier to fill out forms and digitally sign documents.

One tool we quite like is its OCR functionality (we’ve reviewed the best OCR software before), though we were disappointed to find that you still need to convert an image to PDF for it to work. It’s not a difficult process and a simple PDF editor allows you to convert to a PDF like JPG or PNG, but it feels like a completely unnecessary step.

Still, once it’s done, you’ll be presented with a long list of languages (English is selected by default in our version), along with a selected format for saving the output (Word is your default option, but you can also choose TXT, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF). Click ‘Recognize’ and EASEUS PDF will get to work. This process doesn’t take long – but it will obviously depend on the length of the document and the processing power of your computer.

    • Need to crop a PDF? Expect the usual tools for this

You’ll also find the usual features you’d normally see in PDF editing software, such as PDF merging tools for combining multiple documents into one. , or split the PDF, and convert it to many different things. Deleting a page is also a handful of clicks away. It’s actually pretty standard fare.

One of the things we enjoyed was the crop feature, which was very well implemented. Click on the ‘Page’ menu, and select ‘Crop’ from the available list of tools. You then click and drag on the document to create a marquee selection. If you type values instead, you have ‘Top’, ‘Bottom’, ‘Left’ and ‘Right’ fields. You also have options to crop just the selected page, a range of pages, or the entire document. Click the ‘Harvest’ button, and you’re done. It’s a great way to remove unwanted sidebars, for example, letting you focus, and keeping only the essentials.

    Easeus PDF Editor: Note taking

    • Different tools when you need to work with others on a particular document

Online collaboration is important when working with a team, and Easy PDF Editor has you covered on that front by letting you annotate your PDFs.

It’s also easy to add comments, including boxes, arrows, and lines, to draw attention to a particular part of the document. You can even send a copy of the PDF to other team members using email.
