- Qualcomm can offer Snapdragon 8 General 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in the coming months.
- This suggests any shake -up of another convention to nominate the brand’s advanced smartphone processors.
Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip set later last year, which offered a huge leap for Android phones. It also identified the change in the nominated convention against the previous Snapdragon 8 General 3 processor. However, it seems that both the names of the future can be interconnected.
It has been posted on Webo that the company’s rumors SM8845 chip can be called Snapdragon 8 General 5.
Qualcomm is also working on the SM 8850 chip set, which is expected to be Snapdragon 8 Elite General 2 or Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. This means that we can see both Snapdragon 8 General 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in the coming months. The number and the previous leak shows that Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 2026 will be the top of the snap dragon, while the apparent Snapdragon 8 General 5 will be slot down.
However, if confirmed, it would be an interesting name shake -up. Instead of using the expected Snapdragon 8 General 4 mankar, Qualcomm introduced the name of Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip last year. In fact, the early production runs were the packaging of Reliam GT7 Pro, citing the Snapdragon 8 General 4 names.
It looks like Snapdragon 8s will not join the General 5 party. The Digital Chat Station had earlier claimed that the SM8835 chip, which was expected to be expected to not be released in the Snapdragon 8S General 5, 2026.
