I was born to walk out and love everything outside, but I was also born in Scotland, where you can help the sun, hail, strong winds and snow within an hour. That is why I always look for a waterproof jacket that was in fact in real weather, not just lightly drizzle.

Recently, I am testing the Lord Firewall Mountain Waterproof jacket, and this is proving to be a solid contender. This 3 layer is made from the Pratx Shield, which provides you with the sacred trinity of hiking clothing: waterproof, wind proof and breathing. At 15.5oz, it is lightweight and easily packs in hiking bags.

I have worn it on several hills around the Paintland hills, including the drizzle, strong wind and thick fog in the recent 1,200 feet. The craft was low, but the firewall did well. He kept me focused on dry, comfortable and trail instead of the weather.

    You can like

The Lord has called the firewall mountain jacket suitable for common use, hill walking and climbing. At 0 240/£ 245, it is positioned in premium brackets for outdoor gear, and after examining it on several wet and sharp air, I can say that you hope for its price.

The weather safety on the trail is key, and the jacket has many features that help you stay comfortable. The sleeve cuffs can be adjusted to keep the wind and rain away, and they are shaped to fit the gloves easily. Both the ham and the hood are also adjusted. The hood size is wide, which makes it easier to wear with ponytail or bun, and it is still safely tightening when needed.

There is also plenty of practical storage. The pockets on both sides are very deep, with the zippers that run the jacket at a height, which makes them safe and substantially commercialized to sticking gloves, maps, breakfast, you call it. A chest pocket is also designed for easy access while wearing bags or use. There are even Latif Undermame Zip, who offers additional ventilation on a steep climb or hot day. All zippers use YKK aquarcard technology, which means they are coated with polyurethane to help keep the water out.

The version of women comes in three colors. Black is a clean and classical option. Tampist Blue is a deep navy that reminds me of the stormy lake. The mulberry is bold without being bright, and I found it particularly useful in fog situations where the contribution was poor. It was quite standing on the edge of the hill, without which I could feel the danger of walking for my local mountain cows.

In men’s limits, you will find two different colorways as well as black and storm blue. Here is a more clay lighting khaki and a two -tone version that has a template across the shoulders and a bright shade called Maya Blue in the lower half.

For reference, I am 5 feet 9 and tested women’s size small. I appreciated the extra length, which gave good coverage and stopped any difference between my jacket and waist band. I often struggle to find jackets that do not ride during hiking, but it stayed in one place and still felt lighter and easy to get in.
