Google just launched Android 16 and released the June Pixel drop and with them, the Tech Dev is producing six new Android features that are all about personalities. If you are someone who likes to feel a bit different from the standard setup, you will probably want to check them. From customs icons in group chats to your own developed Google Home Favor, from your phone to your TV to your smart watch – these features are made to move with you, whether you are at home or on the go.
Well, let’s start with group chats. Soon to come to Google Messages, you will be able to customize RCS group chats by setting a unique name and even assigning customs icon – eventually put them in the sea of messages.

Google photo is also getting a big upgrade in photo editing. A newly designed image editor is on the way, complete with the new AI -powered tips that bring the right tools at the right time. Just tap, circle or brush whatever you want to fix. The new “Remagin” feature lets you explain what you want to see and AI will revive it. There is also an auto frame, which helps you expand your image scene or achieve a clean crop without any effort.

The Google Home app is also watching a useful update. Now you can create a shortcut related to your favorite choice of Device Device, and will allow you to fix things exactly where it means most. Personally, I think this is one of the most useful updates – it just causes your smart home path to faster and more intuitive. I mean, this is one of the features that quietly make your day smooth.
Another that I think is able to highlight is the updated the safety check feature in the personal safety app. When you run out, hiking or just talking, you can determine the time to make sure you come back safely. If you do not respond when the timer is over, your location is sent to your emergency contacts.

New addition? Now you can increase your phone or smart watch without restarting your safety check timer without restarting the whole thing. Therefore, if you stop for a smooth middle run or decide to take a long way, you can only tape and extend. This is a solid tool of safety, but I hope people will not forget about it and accidentally mobilize emergency warnings-Higher respondents do not need unnecessary stress because someone mistakenly left the check-in.
Now for some more entertainment: Emoji kitchen is getting a new sticker combo. You will be able to connect and match the EM EMAs to express yourself in more creative ways – such as a prayer carrot or a signal. And finally, if you ride a public transit and use clothing OS Smart Watch, things will be smooth. Now you will be able to tap for payment with your City Transit Card, even if the Google Valent app is not open. This is a huge victory for everyone who is going through the station that is full of hands or is behind them.
Are these features ground breaking? Not really But they are definitely a type of update that makes everyday life easier and more pleasant. And Apple has only announced iOS 26-which is filled with precise quality of life improvement-this is a tremendous step in Google to highlight these upgrades.
