As expected, Apple announced the latest version of iPados in its WWDC key note on Monday, and brought a series of interesting new features for the popular tablet. Like iOS for iPhones, iPados will get a collision with version number 26 as Apple brings more consistency to its OS lineup, including Watchos, TVOS and Visionos. This is a cosmetic change as we saw from Samsung in 2020 to align its smartphones in the years to be released.

Last year, we saw dramatic changes in iPados 18, and this year’s software updates make it a bit less interesting, but it is quite new to be excited about it. Last year’s iOS 18 and iPados 18 felt as if Apple introduced new ways to customize his home experience to one of the largest visual over halls for the operating system, as well as the first features of Apple Intelligence.

Possibly the largest announcement in iPados 26 is the latest window system that will convert your multi -tasking game to 11. Apple’s latest iPad update is blinking lines between its operating system. It seems that this may cause any fear of cutting the iPad in Mac sales, as the iPados both feel more matching.

For more, take all your things in WWDC 2025. Below, we are new to the latest version of the iPados and we will cover it when you can lift it.

Let’s enter it. Apple’s approach to the iPad and the iPhone operating system is focused on the refreshment of what was introduced in the update of the previous year, while adding new features, which both make it feel like they are playing the catch -up.

    Liquid glass

Apple announces a new interface design called liquid glass that will spread all its operating system. As the name suggests, several pieces of UI will find a glass -like shape, which includes a new “all -clear” mode that looks smart and may apply to all the image of your home screen. The new design Vision pro -headset takes indications, which includes a new, future sound in your iPad.

    A multi -tasking over -hall

The multi -tasking of iPados 26 feels necessary to the Magic Magic Keyboard Accessories.

Although Apple has described iPados 26 as the biggest update of its tablet operating system during its keynote, the new window system for multi -tasking can be the biggest feature in most people’s minds.

Ipados 26 introduces its apps a new way to change the size of Floating Windows so that you can run multiple apps at the same time and control exactly where you keep them. Window tiling will allow users to reset Windows with minimal effort. In addition, the new window system works with stage manager and external display if you need more space to work.

Another feature that is borrowing from iPados Mac is the exposure, which facilitates you to get a quick view of all open windows – the iPad’s magic keyboard is demoted using accessories. Generally, the keyboard almost IPados seems to be fully utilized to completely use all new features of the iPado.

During the key note, the demo gave iPados the standard of MacOS, and if it works, your productivity on the iPad is improving significantly.

The best news is that new multi -tasking methods of windong include all existing iPads, even the basic. Well, we’ll know how it works on small screens like mini.

A new menu bar for apps

The iPad is slowly becoming a touch screen make that you always wanted.

    Apple/Screenshot CNET via

Apple is pushing the iPados into the Macos area along the new route of multi -task, and it didn’t stop. The iPados will also receive a new menu bar that will provide specific app feature settings or indicators, and will be able to make adjustments in what is shown in the developer menu.

Accessing the menu bar, you can swipe below the top of the screen, and, if you are using the mouse, you can take your cursor upside down.

A new file app that’s like Mac

Mac’s emotions are released in a newly designed file app, which now adds folders and a setting that is more closely found in the MacOS file browsing. The added list sequence and flexibility can be used to drag the files into the dock below and it really gets a Mac sound and hopefully working with the files will make it feel more natural. Folders can also be open to display the content within it, and you can also choose default apps to open files.

    Better tools of audio selection

For anyone who cast or streams the pod from the iPad, it adds audio selection input control as they will help. The added hook should connect them to accessories more easily.

    Preview, just like Mac

A preview app is coming, and it looks like a preview on Mac. It supports pencil interpretations, but it should also be a more helpful way to handle files. Currently, watching photos and documents is another strange process run by the file app. Better multi -tasking should be allowed by dividing the preview.

New features run by Apple Intelligence

Although some of the new features of Apple Intelligence announced during the WWDC were not related to the iPad, they were enough to guarantee what was coming to auxiliary devices. There are some highlights here.

Directly translates for iPad for phone, facetime and messages apps, which automatically translate your default language. For fee time calls, captions will be shown in your language, and for messages, automatic translation will still work even if you are not using the iPhone if you are texting. And when you are on a standard phone call, the translated voice will be spoken aloud.

Refurms of genocide will now allow you to be more specific with your request, which will allow you to change the impression, accessories or hair length. And in the image playground, you can now tap Chat GPT in image style. In the example shown on the stage, someone has been shown to convert the contact image into an oil painting. And the image playground is now deep in the chat GPT, which allows it to send the user’s detail and picture so that something else is specific.

Shortcuts are receiving some new intelligent steps that allow written tools to summarize the text and create images in the image playground. A useful example of these processes was a student to create a shortcut in which the Apple Intelligence model was used to compare an audio transcript of a lecture from the class and compare it against their notes.

New apps and communication features are coming

This year a lot is being moved down from the iPhone to the iPhone – more than usual. It is not surprising that the messages app on the iPad will also receive customs backgrounds that were just announced, but it is also getting some new apps.

With iPados 26, iPads will get a journal app to write daily ideas via Apple Pencil or keyboard. And like the iOS, iPads will also get new Apple Games that will introduce the game overley, so you can easily see events and updates, adaptation settings, or invite friends to play with you. The iPad will also get the Apple phone app, which includes its new hold and call screening features.

    Red pen

Perhaps the least interesting, but still welcome, the new feature has announced the addition of a new Red Pen tool in iPados that uses stroke angle parasites. Can you adhere to your calligraphy skills with your Apple Pencil? You will be able to use the new pen in the notes, previews, free forms, journals and any third party app that uses Apple’s Pennsylmit API.

    Qualified leakage features

As part of the announcement of mass announced last month, iPad users may look forward to some new helper features with visual disorders, such as Risy Reader and Braille Access.

Available Reader is a new, system wide reading mode that aims to make the text easier for low -vision users and people with dyslasses. You can customize the text according to your choice and can be used in any app with the real world text.

Braille access will allow you to use your iPad to take notes in Braille. Using the braille screen input or the attached Braille keyboard, you can launch, take notes, and even calculate with Nimth Braille. You can also open the Braille Ready format files to access files created with the Braille Note tool.

IPad models are compatible with iPados 26

If you are wondering if your iPad will get iPados 26, these are auxiliary models:

    • IPad Pro (m4)
    • IPad Pro 12.9 inches (third jinn and later)
    • IPad Pro 11 inch (first general and later)
    • IPad Air (M2 and later)
    • IPad Air (third general and later)
    • IPad (A16)
    • IPad (eighth general and later)
    • IPad Money (A17 Pro)
    • IPad Money (5th General and later)

Keep in mind that support for iPados 26 is not equal to Apple Intelligence.

When will you be able to test iPados 26?

This version of most of us, iPados, will not reach until the iPhone 17 shelf collides – which we expect is happening in September. However, Apple has a developer beta and, later, more and more user -friendly bets have reached people who want to examine the latest features from Apple with more reliable. Although the developer son may already be installed, you will need to wait by July before the public son arrives.
