    Megan Alice / Android Authority

While I Wanted to de Google my life for some time, I keep hesitating to switch from Google products For other alternatives. Most of this habit is low, rather than not available better options, especially when it comes to my smartphone browser.

But finally, my complaints with Chrome on Android went through routine privacy concerns, and eventually I decided to switch to brave instead. Since moving towards the brave, I have noticed that it was definitely the right choice for a number of reasons.

What is the most important feature for a mobile browser?

    1. The ability to force the dark mode

    Megan Alice / Android Authority

Dark Mode is a leakage feature for me, as it is one of the methods that prevent my smartphone from mobilizing my chronic refugees. Although Chrome is a Dark Mode, you have to rely on the web pages to rely on the extension to force the dark mode that it does not support. Since Chrome’s mobile version does not support extension, it means that I face light theme websites while browsing on my smartphone.

This is one of the first things that removed me from Chrome on my smartphone. I tested some of the best Android browsers, including Opera and Firefox, but eventually I was brave. Although this feature is still marked experimentally in brave settings, I have not found a problem when using me. Sites load with black backgrounds, and I did not find disturbing problems such as image colors are being reversed or QR codes are not shown properly.

    2. Brave built -in ad blocker

    Megan Alice / Android Authority

Now, as a journalist, I understand the websites need to run ads. But as an Internet user, I first know how many sites experience has decreased over the years-making some sites completely unusable.

I often used to advertise that more than half of my screen.

I often used to come in ads that had more than half of my screen, which means that I could only read some sentences at a time. For the second time, advertising blocked important elements on the page.

That is why the brave built -in ad blocker appeals to me. It not only prevents interference ads but also other trackers used to make browser fingerprints. At the same time, if I want to allow them to offer ads, I can White list specific sites.

Technically, you can stop interference ads in the Chrome app, but if you do not know where to see, the layout is buried a bit. It also depends on Chrome to identify what advertisements are interrupted, which I don’t really trust Google.

    3. A low requirement of extension

    Megan Alice / Android Authority

Since the brave mobile browser includes the essential features, I do not need to rely too much on the extension. Although the browser extension is a useful way to add additional functionality to the browser of your choice, they also offer security and privacy risks – especially if they have access to sensitive permits.

Although the browser extension is a useful way to add additional functionality to the browser of your choice, they are also at risk.

Even on the desktop, I don’t rely on many chrome extensions. I mainly use the Dark Reader to force the Dark Mode and U -Block Original Light. As much as I love these extensions, I always worry about the data they have access to them and if it can compromise by a malicious actor. But the brave covers these features in the browser.

Brave even includes a firewall and VPN, however, they have payment properties. It also has a built -in tool and AI assistant of translation. Although I personally refrain from the features of Generative AI on my smartphone, I am glad that brave great services offer privacy -based alternatives.

    4. Availability of a unique search engine

    Megan Alice / Android Authority

When I saw that the brave offered my search engine, I was a little skeptical. However, the last time I gave the Bang a chance, it was ready for Google search. At the same time, Google’s search results have worsened over time – AI fraud, sponsored links, irrelevant shopping links, and YouTube videos.

At first, I also uses AI to provide an overview for the brave search results that I was not impressed. But I have come to know that brave AI reviews are more accurate than Google, while providing more references. For example, when I look for migrants in South Africa a minimum benefit (PMB), the brave recognizes that they are not. On the other hand, Google claims that refugees are covered under these benefits. I know from experience, and my neurologist, this brave is correct.

I know that brave results are more concentrated and usually include high quality sites.

But even even more accurate AI summary, I love to see the results myself to confirm any summary. I have more concentrated results and usually include high quality sites. At the same time, I still have access to currency conversion such as useful search widgets.

I sometimes know that the search engine struggles with local results, but overall, I am happy to use it as a Google search alternative for most tasks. It also has occasionally sponsored links, but I have learned that they are much less than Google’s results.

    5. More control over privacy and experience settings

    Megan Alice / Android Authority

In addition to providing more privacy properties and built -in features than Chrome, I also like the fact that I can significantly adapt to many of these settings in the brave. For example, if you do not want AI to search, you can disable this feature. However, in Chrome on Android, you get stuck with these summary until you use a job to avoid AI review or add “-aii” to search inquiries.

Although the brave enables numerous privacy -based features, you can adjust them according to your preferences. For example, you can choose to stop the Javascript at your sites – though I have not done this personally because it can break some sites. You can also choose to block social media embedded, such as Facebook and LinkedIn embedded posts. Although you can remove site permission for JavaScript in Chrome settings, blocking social media embedded is not available in browser privacy settings. There is no way to block direct browser fingerprints.

The brave media tab allows you to adjust the YouTube experience. For example, I can choose to stop engaging elements and recommended content on YouTube. I can also block YouTube shorts. But these features are not present in Chrome settings.

I still have to make time to customize my experience about brave, but I have already disabled some elements such as brave rewards icon and sponsored images on my new tab page. This level of customization has been incredibly useful.

Although I was not sure that I could really be separated from the Chrome on my smartphone, the brave made the transition much easier than expected. This is thanks to its full customization and many built -in features. So far, I am not sorry for the move.
