    • The Google Play Store is developing a new AI -driven “Ask about this app” feature.
    • This allows users to directly ask questions about apps inside the store.
    • Users can type customs questions or tap on the recommended questions, and Google’s AI will offer a helper answers, such as the app use tips or features.
    • This feature is not yet available for all apps, including some of Google’s own apps.

Google has begun to roll up the feature of the “Ask about this app” in the Play Store. We first saw this functionality in the APK tear, and now it is visible in version 46.1.39-31 of the Google Play Store.

“Ask about this app” integrates Gemini AI directly into the Play Store, which allows users to ask specific questions about any app. For example, you can ask ordinary questions such as “How do I use this app?” Or more detailed people like “How do I report a fraud in the Call of Duty?” This is a really helpful tool for users who may be unfamiliar with an app, and save them the problem of finding them online. Instead, they can easily type their questions in the playplay asks about this app textbox, which appears exactly below the installed button of apps that support the feature.

In addition to typing your questions, the Play Store also recommends ordinary questions. You can easily tap on a recommended question to get a quick response from Gemini.

Since the answers are created by AI, which, as we all know, is not perfect, you will not always answer your questions. For example, it will not be able to tell you how much subscription costs for some apps. The feature is not yet available for every app. Although it now appears for many titles, it is still missing from many apps, which include Google’s own apps such as YouTube, Google Search, and more.
