The company said in a announcement earlier this week that Mozilla’s pocket was closing. The letter -owned webbook marking service, which is owned by Mozilla, will be closed in July, and there will be a few months to export your data before permanently deleting consumers. Parts of the Pocket Service will be available through Mozilla’s Firefox browser, but in the coming weeks, when the service is closed, the users who rely on the social bookmarking app will need to find alternatives to the pocket.

When will Mozilla close the pocket?

A new support document by Mozilla states that the pocket will be closed on July 8. This means that users have less than two months to continue using the webbookmarking service. Pocket will be accessible to users for three months after this date, but it will only allow users to access links that have already been booked.

Existing pocket users will have to export their bookmarking links before October 8 in the form of the Values (CSV) text file (CSV). Mozilla says he will permanently delete all the user’s data after October 8, which means that the user will not be able to export his data after the deadline. Pocket Premium users who chose the annual project will also receive automatic refund after July 8.

Why is Mozilla closing the pocket?

Mozilla says she is focusing on her resources and efforts to improve the bookmarking experience on Firefox, and says “how to save and use content on the web”. While the cross -platform bookmarking service is coming to an end, Mozilla says Firefox users will still see the recommendations of pocket -powered materials in Firefox, and new features like better bookmarks and tab groups will help users save items in their reading list.

    Top pocket replacement to consider

Although you have a few weeks before the pocket closure, it is able to export your data and migrate to another service. Keep in mind that some of these alternatives are free, while the other offers ‘freeium’ models, which means you have to pay some features. Here are the four pockets of pockets that also offer cross -platform experience.

If you are a power user, you will appreciate the level of organization and customization that offers the Ran Drop.U. You can access Rain Drop.U on multiple platforms, including iOS, MacOS, Windows, Linux, Android, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Age. Subscribing the Pro Plan helps support full text search, AI’s tips, a duplicate and broken links, and uploading 10GB files a month (more than 100MB on the free project).

    InstaPaper

One of the closest alternatives to the pocket that does not have a great learning curve is InstaPper. Like pockets, you can also save articles as well as other websites and videos in InstaPaper. It will be compatible with Android, iOS, and the web app. You can share the app through third party services, and it also facilitates you to make a folder to manage your articles.

InstaPper Premium users will have access to full text search, all the articles will get support for a “permanent orchy”, unlimited highlights and notes, text -to -speech playlists, and speed readings on iOS and Android. Subscribers can also send articles on their burns through a bookmark or iOS and Android mobile apps, and they will not see any advertisement on the InstaPper website.

    Vowel

Power users who prefer hosting their webbookmarking service (more control or privacy) can choose Walbag. Offering access to cross -platform synchronization, this self -hosting service allows you to store more bookmarks. Like pockets and InstaPpers, it can also eliminate the content of an article and present it in an easy sight that is easy on the eyes.

If you do not know how to (or do not want) how to host your example, the service also offers paid hosting for a daily backup. Walbag is available on several platforms, including Android, iOS, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Pocket Book, Cobo and Burning. It also provides assistance for numerous feed aggregators such as small RSS, Fresh RSS, and firearms.

This open source, self -hosting pocket replacement facilitates you to save articles, web pages and documents and set up links (or sub deposits), and add tags. It also offers an AI feature that allows you to automatically prepare tags for links. Linkardon allows you to capture the web page as a screenshot, or store the whole page in HTML. This can allow you to access them even if the web page is taken down or the site is closed.
