The very popular Nano Banana image generation and editing AI feature has now been upgraded to Nano Banana Pro. It is based on the Gemini 3 Pro, which was unveiled by Google yesterday.

Google says it can “help you visualize and design anything”.

Nano Banana Pro lets you “create more accurate, context-rich visuals based on better reasoning, global knowledge and real-time information”. It can help you find accurate educational descriptors to learn more about a new subject, with context-rich infographics and diagrams based on the content you provide or facts from the real world. It can also connect to a Google search to “help you create a quick snapshot for directions or visualize real-time information like weather or sports”.

Google boasts that the Nano Banana Pro is the best model for creating images with properly rendered and text-capable text. Now you can create more detailed text in mockups and posters with a variety of textures, fonts and calligraphy. And with Gemini’s multilingual reasoning, you get text in multiple languages. You can also localize or translate your content.

Nano Banana Pro can match up to 14 photos and maintain consistency and similarity for up to 5 people. You can also select, enhance and change any part of an image with enhanced localized editing. Adjusting camera angles, changing focus, applying sophisticated color grading, changing scene, changing scene – all this is possible with just one gesture. In “2K” and 4K resolutions, a wide range of aspect ratios are available for your images.

Nano Banana Pro now runs globally in the Gemini app when you select “Create Images” in the “Think” model. If you are a free user, you will get a limited free quota, after which you will revert to the original non-pro Nano Banana. If you are a Google AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra subscriber, you get a higher quota.

Nano Banana Pro is also available in the US for users of Google AI Pro and AI Ultra in AI mode in Google Search. And it’s also available globally in Notebook LM for subscribers.
