In last week’s survey, the Honor Magic 8 Pro rose to the top while the vanilla Magic 8 trailed. While the two phones share a lot of hardware, the Pro model’s more capable camera is giving it a serious advantage.
Honor Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro
The Honor Magic 8 Pro scored highly in the poll and the number could improve with solid reviews. Some are still wondering if the camera improvements are as big as Honor claims.
One in ten voters plan to hold off until the ultra model is announced in the next few months. For the majority, though, the Pro model strikes the right balance between price and performance.
In terms of criticism, buyers in some regions are confused that they will lose so much battery capacity – the Euro model is 970mah less than the Chinese model! – and some have had bad experiences with Majkos in the past.

The Honor Magic 8 received less attention overall and worse, very little positive attention. That would kill off some sales to the rumored Magic 8 Mini, but more voters are interested in the larger Pro model instead.
There are people who are definitely looking at other brands. Competing models in the OPPO Find X9 series and the Vivo X300 series have already set their global release dates, while the Xiaomi 17 series and Honor Magic 8 series themselves have not confirmed details about the worldwide release date and pricing.

Last year, the Honor Magic 7 Pro was announced in late October and launched in China a week later. However, this model won’t be available in Europe until mid-January this year, so if you’re into the Magic 8 Pro and you live in Europe, you might want to settle for that wait. We will update you as soon as we hear the official launch timeline from Honor.
