Samsung has come under intense scrutiny for failing to introduce meaningful upgrades to its flagship lineup over the past two years. However, a recent rumor, which we should take with a healthy dose of skepticism, suggests that all Galaxy S26 phones will get substantial upgrades to their cameras, batteries and displays.

Let’s start with Ultra. It is believed to include an improved M14 OLED panel with some sort of AI privacy feature, but with the same 6.9-inch diagonal. The AI privacy feature is possibly described in an earlier leak. The main, ultrawide and 5x telephoto cameras reportedly retain their 200MP, 50MP and 50MP resolutions respectively, but the main and ultrawide units will be improved.

Uncertainty is still wrapped around the 3x telephoto camera, though, as Leaker isn’t entirely sure whether the device will use the same 12MP sensor as before, or a larger 12MP unit, or a 50MP shooter.

The battery hasn’t been confirmed yet, but reports so far suggest it will be a 5,400 mAh cell.

On the other hand, the Galaxy S26+ will probably get a more meaningful camera update as the primary sensor will likely be replaced by a larger 1/1.3″ one (up from 1/1.56″), the ultra-wide unit will be bumped up to 50mp and the 10MP telephoto shooter will be replaced with a larger 12MP, 1/2.55. The S25 will borrow the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras from the Ultra.

All this information shows that Samsung has not given up on the Plus model and is likely to discontinue the Edge.

The base Galaxy S26 is said to get the same camera upgrade as the S26 Plus, but with a slight battery bump to 4,200 or 4,300 mAh.

Interestingly, the report mentions a slimmer Galaxy S26 model that won’t compromise as much as the original Edge and will sit right between the standard S26 and S26 Plus in terms of size.

The display is rumored to be 6.6″ diagonal, while the main camera will be 50MP and will include ultra-wide and telephoto cameras, both 50MP. Battery capacity is rated at around 4,300 mAh.

All three, or four if you count the still-unknown slim Galaxy S26 phone, will run on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the Aquinos 2600, depending on the region.

The information comes from an unknown source, but describes the lineup in amazing detail, so an inside source could be involved. Still, we remain vigilant, as rumors about the Galaxy S26 Edge and the S26 have been quite confusing and contradictory lately.
