Earlier this year, the thread group unveiled version 1.4 of the low -power smart home protocol. One of the major reforms was an easy cross-ecosystem inter -partide-this means that smart home devices based on the thread of different brands can work in alliance rather than each brand.

Samsung’s Smart Things is one of the first smart home environmental systems to include support for this network alliance. It has been supported on Smart Thang Hubs (including Eiotic Smart Home Hub and Etock Smart Home Hub 2) and will soon be added to the hubs.

First, some terms. A closing device is something you can control the thread network, such as a smart light bulb. A router re -transmits messages to help create a mesh network, which has extension limit and reliability. Finally, there is a bridge between a border rotor thread network and Wi -Fi or Ethernet network.

Smart Thing Hubs Border Routers are and you can connect them with thread -based devices in one of the two ways. After you manage the thread network after you manage the Smart Things Hub Interface, Settings, Thread Network, unite the thread network after management of the thread network.

From here, you can select the Smarthangus Network, which will give you a QR code and a timely pass code (OTP). Either using the QR or OTP code, you can add third -party border routers to your Smart Thing Thread Network.

If you have already built a thread network with thread party devices and you just bought a smart Thing Hub, you choose another option-join any and network. Use the QR or OTP code from the third -party app to add the smart Thing Hub to the current network.
