When I picked up the iPhone 17 Pro, I was two surprises. For one, the colors are bold-barely a good change of speed there. But the biggest surprise is how much has changed about the back of the phone.
Through all accounts, it still feels like an iPhone, with its soft matte aluminum frame. But the polished camera bar – always an unmanned design factor – now spreads backwards. And a detail that I have discounted during the key note is how the polished glass part reopens in the middle of the back of the device. There is a sparkling square cut out where Apple is using its ceramic shield. This is seemingly for heat purposes, but it also produces another interesting two tone. It’s a little bit like already a accessories from behind, or Apple is inviting you to keep you there.
There is also another benefit to the camera bar in the back of the back: the rotation of the phone on a table has been substantially reduced. This has been a great resentment for me, especially on the standard two camera models. This is not completely eliminated, as the lens is still spreading from the camera bar. But unless you are pushing the upper left corner, it seems that the phone is stable and flat. A small improvement of life.
All three of the camera lens still exist, but now it is surrounded by a whole width. This is a bit like a design language found in Google’s Pixel phones. The cameras themselves are also updated, with 48 megapixels on the board.
Other major updates about Pro and Pro Max are better sunglasses, such as new A19 Pro processors, new ceramic shield 2 protection on display with better scratch resistance, 3,000 nets of peak screen brightness (2,000), a new center stage selfie camera, 8x optical zoom, and a lot.
