Arm unveils its next generation’s CPU and GPU designs today and is also introducing the Lomax Computer Sub Sub System (CSS). Earlier, Medetic and Samsung’s choice will grant a license for CPU and GPU designs and connect a chip set together. The Lomax CSS Turnie is the solution.
To be clear, the arm is not going to sell chips. Instead, it has developed a process for production for 3NM semiconductor nodes of several foundries.
In their own words, its silicon and OEM partners will “use the implementation as a flexible building block, so that they can focus on distinguishing the CPU and the GPU cluster level.”

Therefore, there is no fixed design, however, new parts are extremely customized. The new C1-DSU enables 1 to 14 CPU core designs that choose four options, C1-UP, C1-Premium, C1-PRO and C1-Nano, which we have discussed in another article. For GPUs, there is a financial-G1 scales up to 1 to 24 shaders.
Lumax CSS platform
The arm has a “secret sauce” so that Lomax can be improved with custom chip set designs that have come before. The new system interconnect L1 has maintained the system level cache (SLC) for the chip set and has a reduction of 71 % leakage compared to standard RAM designs, which minimize useless power consumption.
In addition, the new memory management unit (MMU) L1 enables safe and cost efficient virtualization (usually used to run multiple OSS simultaneously on the same computer).

ARM has a powerful and safe “integrated tissue” for Lumax CSS
A C1 CPU computing cluster gains an average of 30 % more in industry standards. Applications such as gaming and video streaming, it is an average of 15 % faster.
