DJI Mike 3: One minute Review
The DJI Mike 3 is the latest premium release in the company’s popular wireless microphone range, which includes DJI Mike 2. The MIC2 was released only 18 months ago, and for some time Takadar’s best wireless microphone guide is at the top, so I could have a little about the need for a new model.
After receiving a sample of DJI Mike 3’s review, though, I just took a few seconds why people want to upgrade to MIC2. Mike 3’s transmitter component, or TX, is far more compact and lightweight than your predecessor, making it easier to wear.
And – be appreciated! -In the charging case, it is not only possible to fit the two TX unit and the recipient (RX), but also clips, magnets, windscreens and even 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable. Over the past one year, one of the burns I have done with my own DJI Mike 2 is that when recording audio outside, dear windscreas, which are all compulsory, do not fit into the charging case. To determine here (as it was on the DJI Mike Mini) is amazing.
Looking deeply during the MIC3 test, I noticed that the DJI had improved somewhere: now there are two levels of cancellation of active noise rather than one. It is possible to transfer unlimited 24 -bit audio from TX to RX. And there are three new voice presets to add quick colors to the sound recording. All these features are easy to use and adding quick, solid effect to the recording.
Another new feature is double -mode adaptive control control, which is designed to provide balanced audio in difficult recording conditions. Automatic layout is used to prevent audio trimming during the unexpected increase in volume (I found that when recording an unexpected outdoor environment, such as walking around the city where traffic noise can jump in a second), while the dynamic is more controlled by a more controlled environment.
And, when I was not personally unable to test it (two TX units in my possession and one RX only to have a standard setup), the DJI says MIC has been able to capture clear voices from large gatherings of people thanks to the 3 4TX+8RX group recording. It also includes assistance for the time code, which was not on MIC2. Therefore, Mike 3’s professional production credentials are definitely more impressive than Mike 2.
The wireless transmission range has been increased from 250m to 400 meters, and also has a large conflict in the battery life, which lasts for 18 hours (with charging case and two TXES) from 2 to 28 hours (though it may not be close to 48 hours of Mike Money). Oh, and on -board storage space on TX units has been increased fourfold, from 8GB to 32GB.
All of these are compulsory reasons to upgrade mic 2, and are less lost in terms of features. The TX units no longer have a separate lavaler mic input, which can be a problem for those users who want to hide it at the time of filmmaking, and the safety track has dropped the recording mode, but it’s about it.
Mike 3 is excellent in terms of general sound standard, and Mike 2 is similar. For people on the board with 32 bit floats, who need extra levels of safety and control, and 24 bits for daily use, I think very few content creators will have problems with the audio side here.
With the MIC3, the DJI has managed to connect its mic 2 and MIC Mini into the same magnificent wireless mic – and it is cheaper than Mike 2. In fact, when comparing rivals prices, it is very difficult to see that I can’t recommend it to anyone in search of a new premium wireless mic.
DJI Mike 3: Price and release date
- Available to order which is available from 9 169 / AU $ 369
- The ingredients are available individually or in bundle
- Not US official availability at the time of writing
The DJI Mike is available to order from its launch date on August 3, 28, 2025, and the company is offering numerous bundles. For a full package containing two TX units, one RX, charging case, cables, magnets and windscreen, the price is 9 259 / AU $ 569. A simple one TX and a RX package, it is 9 169 / aU $ 369. Buyer individual components such as TX, RX, charging case, and new accessories available at the time of launch also include power adapters and alternate color windscreen.
I think the price is very reasonable in view of Mike 3’s capabilities and species, and I am a huge fan of the company that sells individual components separately, as it gives consumers a chance to start small and upgrades over time.
However, there is a bad news for readers based in the United States, which they hope they will hand over Mike 3. As the recently announced DJI products, the company is not officially launching in the United States, which has a clear answer to the uncertainty around the revenue. A company spokesperson told me the following:
“After the launch of the Global Launching, DJI Mike 3 is not in stock in the United States. The DJI is committed to the US market and makes our products and services available to our US -based customers. However, we have to adjust our market strategies for some products recently in light of market conditions, when we have to introduce our products when we need it, but we have to introduce it to the US. Surveys from, we are closely monitoring and we are closely monitoring.
Consumers based in the United States may be able to get Mike 3 through third -party stocks, so it may be able to examine camera stores like B&H.

DJI Mike 3: Design
- The weight of the TX unit is only 16 grams with the magnet
- RX has a 1.1 -inch AMOLED Touch Screen
- The charging case now adjusts more components
I have already mentioned the small, light construction of TX units, but other smart designs are also notable. For example, when using clips, you can now rotate the TX acquaintance to ensure that the Mic Girl is pointing to the sound source. TX units are now given magnetic shape themselves, causing them to be safely connected to metal levels.
The design of the recipient (RX), in the meantime, does not change mainly from MIC 2. There is a bright, crisp 1.1 -inch emulated touch screen on the front, as well as a rotating and pressable dial to help select and change the settings. The design allows a USB-C adapter to connect (or electricity, but it’s an optional extra), and 3.5 mm output now supports a locking screw to keep it in place.
The charging case, despite being smaller than Mike 2, is much better. As I mentioned in the aforementioned section, it uses it very efficiently, and now it can not only adjust two TX and an RX but also connected wind screen and clips, which has room for magnets and 3.5 mm to 3.5mm TRS cable lid.
The large bundle includes the zip -up fabric bags to store everything, including the additional windshields (so two black and two brown in total), as well as the charging cable.
DJI Mike 3: Performance
- Two -level active noise cancel and sound tone parasites
- Osmudio supports direct connection
- To the Omni Directational Audio and to a range of up to 400 meters
It seems that Mike 3 has been built on similar audio bones with Mike 2. This is not a bad thing, because this means that users get 24 -bit recording with 32 -bit float recording (large file size, but for those users who do not want to clip their audio) as well as adjusting 24 -bit recording. After using it in and out of the house in different cases, I found Mike 3 a highly reliable recording partner, even if it was folded.
And it can be paired with a lot. The RX can go to cameras, computers, tablets and smartphones through your USB or 3.5mm output (or power adapter, you should buy it), and it is also possible to connect TX directly to recording devices through Bluetooth.
The TXDI’s Osmudio is also compatible with the environmental system products, which supports 24 -bit audio and even 32 bit floats (which will be recorded directly on TX’s memory as a separate, second file). I used it with DJI OSMO 360 and DJI OSMO Action 5 Pro, and was very impressed with both use and audio quality. It is possible to control the gin and other settings through cameras menu screens, and Mike 3 represents a massive improvement in the built -in microphones of these cameras.
Canceling noise is extremely effective without distorting sound recording. You can listen to yourself in the aforementioned embedded video, which also shows a direct built -in voice tone precision and general audio quality from Mike.
As Mike 2, Mike 3’s TX units can also record on their own, 32GB act as a completely independent mic thanks to internal storage space.
Should I buy DJI Mike 3?
Buy it if…
If not buy it …
DJI Mike 3: Consider this too
How did I experience DJI Mike 3
- I used it for several weeks
- I made it paired with camera, computer and smartphone
- Running firmware 01.01.02.10
The DJI sent me a mic -3 review sample a few months before the date of his launch, which gave me a chance to spend a few weeks to test the environment and conditions. I linked to several devices: My Panasonic Lomix GH6 Mirror Lace Camera, DJI ASO Action 5 Pro and DJI ASO 360 Action Camera, My MacBook Air Laptop and my iPhone 13 smartphone. This meant that I was able to test both its direct connection and the recipient connection.
Before writing this review, the firmware was updated in the latest version of the V01.01.02.10), but manufacturers often release updates to compare the public launch – so please note that DJI has slightly reduced the performance since the publishing of this review.
