This discovery was made in the app version 7.41, where the code refers to a feature called “Three Pew”. This will include a new “How it was created” section in view of the picture details. It will include swipe in a photo or video, where users can see details about how it was created or edited.

    The labels included are these:

    • “Media created with AI”
    • “Edited with Ai Tolls”
    • “Modified with multiple AI tools”
    • “Edited with nan-a-i-tolls”
    • “Media caught with no software adjustment camera”

It may also be detected when several modification tools were used or when several images were found. In addition, if the file editing date is missing or changed, Google Photo will instead show a mistake message.

According to the source, this functionality operates through content credentials, a system that connects the permanent date of the editing of the file. This information also lives with the media until it is removed, unless it is removed.

This idea is not completely new to Google. The company has already developed saints, which is a deep mind project that wanders waters invisible AI-generation images. Although it is unclear whether saints are being used here, the purpose of both methods is to provide people with more context about the beginning of visual content.

Other companies are also working on a similar solution. The first image of Adobe’s contents detects editing metad data, while Meta has pledged to label AI inflicies in Facebook and Instagram. Mighty, these projects show that the tech industry considers transparency around the AII amendment as fast.

If Google releases this feature with Google Photos, it may prove to be a useful tool for immediate checking to see if the photos and videos are authentic. Although this irony is not lost on me that it is the same company that has developed tools to produce realistic AI photos and videos, but I can see how it can be valuable in areas like journalism, education and online sales, where confidence makes sense. In addition, one of the most commonly used photo apps can include such a device that follows.
