    Booking.com this year is taking another hit thanks to a new fishing campaign that plans to redirect users to malicious websites with local roles. The threatening actor is using a Japanese diamond character – 1 – because of a further matching slash. At a sharp look, it justifies a phishing URL.

    Initially discovered by independent malware hunter and security researcher James WT, it relies on the visual similarities between the attack characters so that scammers can create a URL that fools users who do not closely inspect them. The text of malicious emails also resembles the original booking.com’s web address as it also abuses the role of Japanese diamonds that can pass for the “/n” or “/~” letter sample.

    While the text in malicious emails resembles a booking.com. When a user looks at the address in a web browser, the roles can look like more directory web address. However, the affected people are sent to a malicious MSI installer to click on the link, which is used to drop further pay loads, which may include items like infoesting malware or remote Axis Trojan.
