It is one of the oldest enemies in the consumer world: Coke vs Pepsi. If I told you that I prefer Coke, would you assume that I hate Pepsi? Any sensible person will “not answer” this question. They will say, “This is just a priority.” For some reason, though, the same logic does not always apply to the tech world, especially when smartphones are talked about.

After working Android Authority For many years, I have learned that many people there think that if you are on the side of the coin, you have to hate the other. For example, this is very clear with the fight between Android vs iOS. It seems that once you commit an Android phone or iPhone, it should mean that you may not be associated with anyone from the other side. I have also seen this while talking about Pixel vs Samsung. In fact, I have been accused of hating Samsung on numerous occasions because I am very clearly a pixel boy, which means that people think that I am a Samsung anti -man.

I have been accused of being anti -Samsung because I am a Pixel supporter. It bothers me because I like both brands for a variety of reasons.

But this is not true. For more than a year, the Samsung Galaxy S11 Ultra was my daily driver, and even today, wherever I go, I have joined the Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra in my bag so I can use all the features that my Pixel 9 Pro does not have. In other words, not only is it wrong to say that I hate Samsung, but I really, really, really like Samsung.

What I want to do today is to talk about this problem as a whole. First, I would like to talk clearly about why Pixel users are not owned by the Samsung phone. After that, I will touch the flip and talk about why Samsung fans do not own a pixel phone. Hopefully, by the end, we will all understand each other something else.

Why Pixel fans are not always a galaxy phone fans

    Robert Triggs / Android Authority

If there is something that unites people who like pixel phones, this is the software: Pixel UI. It is fast and lean, updated in a stable clip, and is very close to both look and feeling to stock Android. It is also free from bltware, and I’m not just talking about a pre -loaded net flax or anything. Unlike Samsung Phone, Pixel phones come with a version of each core app: a browser (chrome); A photo app (Google Photo); An app store (Google Play); A payment app (Google Wallet); And continue. The idea that the galaxy phones come with two versions of many apps. It is especially disturbing that many versions of Samsung cannot be installed.

Bluatware, lack of stock look and feeling, and features are the major reasons why Pixel users do not like a Samsung UI.

An UI is also dramatically removed from the stock Android in both sight and feeling. For example, the settings page is organized in a completely different way and there are far more toggle and buttons that you find on a pixel. The problem in searching for your need is a problem that Samsung introduces the AI -powered search bar in settings to help users get around. In other words, a UI are filled with goods you never need nor can know about it, while the Pixel UI is very low.

Google is also great for its customers to detect the pain point and then solve the pain point beautifully. For example, a long -standing problem is that if you take a lot of screenshots, they disrupt your photo gallery. So Google made a dedicated place to save them – properly pixel screenshots – which not only keeps your screenshots away from your central gallery but also uses AI to find and manage them. Google also created a selected feature in the review menu, which, in many situations, eliminates the need for screenshots.

Google is much better than Samsung when it comes to the point of pain that pixel users come to understand and then it is resolved simply and beautifully.

Another example is to use Shazam’s app to find out which song you are around. You need to mobilize your phone to unlock, open the app and start listening. On the pixels, though, now, the playing feature indicates that you can always see what your lock screen is playing – no other app is needed.

Samsung is not so good. In fact, many features that solve the user’s pain points on galaxy phones actually come from Google. The first Samsung phone is the circle to debut on the phone, but it is a Google product. The Galaxy AI has a generating AI editing tool that can remove the items from the images and fill the gap, but it is only picked up by the Google Magic Editor. Google and Samsung have been firmly involved, so it is understood that such things will occur. Regardless of this, Google is almost always in the lead when software innovation comes.

Beyond the software, Pixel Hardware also works well for many people. The most obvious example here is the size. Samsung makes a huge phone almost every time and when it makes it small like the base galaxy S25, they are naturally weak in the sugars. Meanwhile, phones such as Pixel 9 Pro (and incoming Pixel 10 Pro) manage to pack almost all pro -level sunglasses that you expect a relatively smal from a flagship in small size.

Pixel designs have been significantly developed in the last four years. The galaxy designs have been practically no change in the same period.

Samsung’s designs are also really inhabiting this location. A Galaxy S25 ultra looks like a Galaxy S22 ultra three years ago. If you compare it with a difference between Pixel 9 and a Pixel 6, you will quickly see that Google is permanently tweeting its design language to make its phone fresh, while Samsung has repeatedly helped regenerate the same designs.

Finally, the camera. Although most of the pixel fans will happily admit that Samsung’s cameras are very good, they have only different philosophies. Pixels are really good at providing great shots that look closely to life as much as possible. On the other hand, Samsung’s cameras are good in supplying shots that look extremely realistic, which makes many people feel aesthetically happy. There is nothing better and worse about every system, but pixel fans prefer the natural look of pixel cameras.

Now for flip: Why Samsung fans are not sold on Pixel

    Robert Triggs / Android Authority

First of all, we need to talk about an UI again. Although this pixel is much heavier than UI is more and more customized Android skin, there is no debate that it has Method Other specialty

I will not bother to go into all the things you can do with a UI that you can’t do with Pixel UI, but here’s a taste.

    • DexWhich converts your phone into a desktop -like interface.
    • Samsung’s routineWhich allows you to make strong automation.
    • Good lockWhich allows you to customize almost every small thing about how your phone feels and works.
    • Dual Bluetooth contactWhich allows you to add two pairs of headphones together.

These are all features that you will mostly find on the flagship Samsung phone, but will not even find a very expensive pixel. Some Samsung users rely on these features so they will never go to pixel without Google.

There are many things you can do with an UI that you can’t even dream of doing with Pixel UI.

Rising towards the hardware, the majority of the flagship Samsung phone comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. It is an objective fact that the most powerful Qualcomm processor defeats every other Android processor by almost every metric, and also includes a Google tanker processor. This means that a Galaxy phone, which is similar to the price of a pixel phone, will probably be much more powerful, more powerful. Samsung’s fans argue that a decision between 9 799 payment for Pixel 9 with a tanker chip or the payment of 9 799 Galaxy S25 with Snapdragon Chip – is certainly going to go with the phone that provides a reasonable performance.

Regarding cameras, most Samsung fans will probably recognize that photos of an UI -overs process, but they will compete that the Samsung camera hardware has defeated hell outside the pixel at any day of the week. The Galaxy S25 has 200 MP primary camera sensors in the Ultra, S25 Edge, and Z Fold 7, which is more capable of hardware than any pixel. The S25 ultra also comes with two telephoto lenses, which gives you a lot of talent with the zoom. SAM, Samsung, offers an app called expert RAW to eliminate all of this, which provides you with a fine control over every sequence of each lens. This is something in which pixels cannot even come close to copying.

Samsung’s flagship processors and camera hardware even described even the most expensive pixel.

But finally, the biggest reason that Samsung users don’t buy pixel phones is that… well…They can’t. Samsung phones are sold in almost every country in the world. In comparison, pixels are sold in only one of them. For example, a person living in Brazil can buy mostly Samsung phones – but no pixels can buy. The Brazilian population is more than 200 million, so it is 200 million people who are more likely to be a Samsung fan (and a lot about it). This problem is also present in China, Indonesia, Mexico… the list continues!

To further worsen matters, some of the Pixel star features are not supported in countries where phones are really available. An example of this is a call screen, which is one of my favorite pixel features. In this device, Google Assistant responds to the phone for you, so you can decide whether this call is actually worth your time. It automatically works here in the United States, but outside the United States, there are some countries where it only works manually – and some where it doesn’t work. For example, in Germany, the manual call screen works, but in the neighboring Netherlands, this is not the case. It is probably from local laws and obstacles to the language, but it is disturbing that if you can get a pixel in your area, not everything is guaranteed to work – in which Samsung users do not have to worry about 99 % of an UI features.

Can’t we all be just along?

    Adamia Sharma / Android Authority

The most important thing here is that there are very legitimate reasons that Pixel users do not like Samsung phone and at the same time, very legitimate reasons why galaxy users do not like pixels. Is it wrong on both sides? No, not at all. Each party has purchased the phone that works best for them and their special situation.

To help illuminate it, I would like to highlight two comments that have been published on my YouTube channel. This first person comes from someone who interprets himself as “Samsung Night”. However, they also say that there is a lot about the pixel line they respect, including how well the products look and their neutral approach about the ecosystem:

This second comment comes from the Pixel user. They talk about how the camera puts them with pixels. But they also acknowledge that they wish Pixels have a better processor, as you find in Samsung’s flagship:

C Scott Brown / Android Authority

These are two examples of people who love their own phones, but happiness can acknowledge that there are some things that improve other brands. This is the kind of attitude we need to see. As I have said many times before, no phone is perfect – always a compromise. It is okay to admit that your preferred brand does not fix everything, just as it is okay to admit that you prefer Coke does not mean that you hate Pepsi.
