    According to a recent report by a market research firm, Indian smartphone delivery has increased by 7.3 % in the second quarter (Q2) of 2025 (Q2). In the first half of the year, 70 million smartphones were sent to the country, which marked 0.9 % YOY growth. The report states that although the market has been withdrawn from a two -quarter reduction, consumer demand and higher prices are likely to reduce the overall growth this year. In Q2 2025, Vivo retained its first place in terms of market share, followed by Samsung and OPPO.

    According to an IDC report, in H1 2025, based on a quarterly mobile phone tracker data worldwide, 70 million units were sent to India’s smartphone market, showing 0.9 % YOY growth. In the second quarter of the year, 37 million smartphones were sent, which increased by 7.3 % in Yoy. The rise of the new model launches all prices parts, with prices cut on old phones, high offline store margins, and marketing efforts have pushed the market rise in Q2 2025.

    The report added that despite the two consecutive constituencies, the overall rehabilitation is expected this year that the average price of consumer demand and average sales (ASPs) will reduce its pace.

    Apple maintained its strong performance by reaching 5.9 million units in the shipment in H1 2025, a 21.5 % Yoy increase. During this period, the iPhone 16 was India’s highest sale model, with four percent of the country’s total smartphone delivery.

    The report added that Vivo has maintained its strong position, which has topped India’s smartphone market in the sixth consecutive quarter with a balanced lineup in various prices and sales channels. Samsung ranked second, which achieved 21 % growth, driven by new Galaxy A, M, and F -series models, which increases AI in middle -range phones.

    Oppo secured third position, thanks to the success of its cheap Oppo and the support of the OPOA 5X models and the support of the service center. With an increase of 84.9 %, nothing has happened in the year by year, after which IQOO is 68.4 %.

    The admission level segment (less than $ 100 (about 8,8,900 rupees)) saw a strong growth of 22.9 % of the year, increasing its market share from 14 % to 16 %. Xumi led this class with its affordable Redmi A4 and Redmi A5 model.

    Delivery increased by 1.1 % YOY in large -scale budget segment ($ 100 to 200 (about Rs. 17,500)), but its market share fell from 44 % to 42 %. Vivo, OPPO, and Railm continue to dominate the class, which collectively contains 60 % share.

    Entry Premium segment ($ 200 to $ 400 (about 35,35,100 rupees) faced 2.5 % YOY reduction in the shipment, causing its market share to fall from 30 % to 27 %. Vivo, Samsung, and Oppo are the leaders here, while Motorola saw a significant increase in shipment, which is fourth.

    The middle premium segment ($ 400 to 600 ((about Rs 52 52,600)) showed a strong growth of 39.5 %, which increased its market share from four percent to five percent.

    The highest growth in the premium segment ($ 600 (about 52 52,600 rupees), 800 (about 70,100 rupees)) was recorded at 96.4 %, of which the market share is doubled from two percent to four percent. The iPhone 16 and the iPhone 15 combined with more than 60 % of this category is calculated.

    Finally, the super premium segment (over $ 800) increased by 15.8 %, which maintained a stable seven percent market share. Compared to Apple’s 48 %, Samsung surpassed Apple as a leader. Key models include iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy S25.

    In Q2 2025, the shipment using Qualcomm chips increased by 37.6 % Yoy, which won 33.9 % market share. Meanwhile, due to a 15.4 % reduction in delivery, the meditator’s share was 56.1 % to 44.3 %.

    In Q2 2025, offline channel delivery increased by 14.3 % YOY, which increased their share to 53.6 %. On the contrary, online channel delivery was stable during the quarter. The online market share reduced YOY by 49.7 % in Q2 2024, Q2 2025 increased by 46.4 %, but in Q1 2025, the quarter (QOQ) increased by 41.9 %.

    According to the report, brand growth in recent circles has been promoted by brands using omni channel strategies such as better store margins, these store promoters, and prices. To compete, online sellers started selling summer sales with a large discount on middle distance and premium phones.

    Indian Smartphone Shipment H2 2025 Outlook

    It is expected that due to rising prices and other economic conditions, smartphone delivery will decrease slightly reducing demand, especially for budget phones. The report says that the cheaper Android market is shrinking, which is reducing the overall growth. Meanwhile, the sales of iPhone models continue to show strong growth with double -digit YOY increase.

    The report further claims that there are many new models in the middle -bound smartphone market, which leads to stiff competition and potentially extra stock in the festival season. In the second half of 2025, brands and sellers are expected to focus on launching new shipment rather than using heavy promotions to sell old stocks.
